its actually worth quite a lot to sky.if the games were shown on terrestrial tv the viewing figures would be twice those for SL games shown on SKY so for that reason alone its worth more than a couple of bob a season to each club.

The fact that we are playing Championship RL instead of Championship 1 RL shows that the RFL doesn't have this huge downer on Leigh that some fans believe them to have.... IMHO.

Widnes have more fans on average than Crusaders or Harlequins and take away visiting supporters Salford.

Non relegation league clubs have the best players put the current Dewsbury Batley Whitehaven Featherstone in Wire shirts not to mention the rest and have to stick with that for 3 seasons and you would not turn up week in and week out knowing your team is doing nothing more than treading water.

I think most people want the best teams to be in the elite league. Certainly I do not want elite teams in the lower division. Why would anyone ever want that?

Well two things first of all the best players are in non relegation league because there is a salary cap of 1.6 million for those clubs.

I don't understand what you are trying to say? Are you suggesting that the best players should be in the Championship? The best players play in the best league, hence it is the best league. That's just common sense



No free tickets were given away. The deal was that Wrexham FC season ticket holders could get tickets for £10. Even if free tickets had been given away though, why would that have been a bad thing? It would be attracting people to the game, you can't moan that expansion clubs are failing and then when they get a good crowd dismiss it because of 'free tickets', or criticise them for trying to market the game.

Do you mean competition in terms of promotion and relegation? Because the game is not strong enough at Championship level to sustain it. As a Leigh fan, you saw first hand in 2005 what happens when clubs that are not good enough are promoted. You can't say that did anyone any good, and neither did having Castleford and Salford coming down and dominating the Championship every year before going straight back up. The leagues are actually lot more competitive and unpredictable since promotion and relegation was scrapped. Would Barrow have been able to win the league last season if there was still promotion and relegation? No, it would have been won by a full-time Castleford side that would have been promoted again, and then relegated again the following year. This is also stopping Championship clubs from stretching their budget too far to try and match the relegated Super League side and ending up going bust, as clubs like Widnes and Doncaster did. As well as this, Super League clubs are now blooding far more local youngsters and are less reliant on second-rate Aussies without the fear of relegation. So it's a good thing all-round that promotion and relegation was scrapped.

Super league clubs (polite expression) can spend 1-6 million a season on players. FIVE times more than a Championship club. That is why they have better players.

I was trying to point out it would not be surprising therefore if such a funded club beat a FIVE times less funded club easily or like the 50 our smug poster Dicosuggested on this thread in a rather pathetic attempt to support his arguments. We watch a team where best team ie the one with the best players wins. It is not a sport like footie like when for example Burton Albion can draw 0-0 with Manchester United on a given day. (do not bring up our defeat at York please).

Now Crusaders. Folk like to watch sucess and to be seen on TV and something new to them. Bridgend had a decent crowd for a couple of games aided by novelty and discounts.
