He may have been a bit enthusiatic with his 'floral' language but the point about the atmosphere does ring true. Can anyone remember a good atmosphere at Hilton Park in the last few years because I cant? And was there not an excellent atmosphere against Salford in the first game at the LSV?

Most games against Widnes (even the 'friendlies'!), Wakey & Broncquins games in Super League certainly stand out. That said, bloody dire for most league games, but even so not the near silence of recent games at the LSV. Don't think it helps when Leigh are attacking the South Stand in the second half though, to be fair.

That's why I've posted before if we don't open the south end then away fans should be allocated the South end of the West stand, they and we will then play towards our fans in the second half.

In response to the OP, I love it at LSV, but have criticised the certain things, like the atmosphere, but thats down to us, I don't know about others but we're just starting to settle in a 'fixed position', and the old HP crew slowly standing together again, and having a laugh, LSV needs time, room for improvement but has great potential.

Completely agree with that, but I must admit I'll be interested to see how many cheapskate Widnesians will save £2 and run the North Stand gauntlet.


Noticed that myself - hopefully the settling in period won't last too much longer and we can finally concentrate on what is happening on the field and the atmosphere will follow.

I like L.S.V. and really dont find the atmosphere any different than H.P. We have a great view much better than H.P. feel much nearer to the pitch even though we sit on back row. I think that when we start to put 2 or 3 winning matches together people will find the atmosphere much better after all we have only had 1 league match at home .

i have no idea who you are, and i don't care, but i have been a fan of MY club since 1978, and commens that you are making are bang out of order, why do you not do the honourable thing and say who you are, instead of hiding behind a made up name, i won't resort to your sort of juvenile rants, i shall leave it at that, just to say alot of people who come on here are genuine fans, who care passionately about their club.

Personally I like the LSV cos it saves me money, but thats only because I won,t pay whatever it is for a pint of keg beer and they don,t sell pasties.

Entertaning rugby however might encourage more people to attend. Have to say if there was a box you could drop money in if you enjoyed the game I would probably drop a quid in. I think I have only posted that cos I haven,t seen it yet.

I think the new stadium is brilliant one of the best in UK Rugby
without a shadow of a doubt miles better than Hilton Park
and apart from Hull , Wigan , Doncaster its the best in the game
all we need now is a team to grace it things aint too bad at the moment
but we need a few experienced owd yeds in the team to bring these young players on..........


Downside is the catering prices miles to high cup of tea £1-70p
ect ect ect but HEY we dont need to buy these overpriced items if we dont want so ALL IN ALL TOP STADIUM !!! TEAM NEEDS IMPROVING !!!

if wysiwyg had posted that on the Legh Life website he would have by now have been reported to the administrator by one of his chums and would have been banned from the forum.

Well I don,t like complaining but I think the pitch is too long and I feel the club should provide binoculars for those of us who are concessionary season ticket holders.

Also the hot water in the toilets is too hot and the roof over it is unsanitary.

Apart from that and a few other things I honestly prefer the LSV to HP.

Do not drink keg beer
Do not need a crust encased savoury, generally have big breaky first then pre match cask beer
Do not generally have a brew, I take my own Irn Bru (medicinal purposes)
But I
Do buy a programme
Do buy half time draw ticket.

Do think the LSV ground is excellent, to quote my chum Bob “I never thought we would be watching Leigh in a ground like this” all we thought would at most be a cantilever over the Railway end at Hilton Park.

On the away crowd front, I think they should be allowed into the South Stand, then again which teams will bring enough to warrant opening the stand, Widnes?

As for the toilets, it can’t be right having a roof, hot water, dry floor (almost), functioning traps and worst of all toilet paper, strooth

Only gripe is wbgqn’s council moniker on the score board and front of stadium.
