Would be great if true..but how on earth can that be done under a salary cap we have already broken?

Has been stated on here on a good few occasions in the past few week that, in terms of contracts we already committed to, we are already over the permitted £150,000 Championship One salary cap. Can only imagine a signing like Cunningham (can't see it happening) would hardly help our salary cap situation!

I've heard this one for a while too. You have to think if he did leave Stains there would be plenty of takers in SL for him. However...there's no smoke without fire. How long was the Millward rumour doing the rounds until it happened?

In the same way CC managed all their players.......... don`t answer that.............Is nt our potential income far greater than other champ 1 sides.......ie crowds,sales etc

No way would we have Cunningham and Paul on a Championship 1 cap, it'd be pushing it in the championship never mind Championship 1.

I here he wants to play for free , just like all those players Gateshead have signed and the ones working in South Wales for the RFL



Salary Cap and the RFL just don't exist, even if its broke its a hand slap fine

Lets be honest, would we really have signed Bibey, Cunningham and Paul if we were heading for Championship 1 ?

What bloody point would there be in doing this when we have the current squad for whom would gain promotion quite easily without this extra cost ?

Then again, are we really going down ?

What's the penalty for breaking the salary cap, as plenty of other teams have done it.
If it's a 6-points deduction the following season then sod the cap, we'd still end up in the play-offs with the right squad.
Obey by all the RL rules and we'll be sat here in 2-years time saying, we might get in SL in 2015. We'd be pi$$ing in the wind from then on.

Well I cant find anywhere in print where it gives any indication of any salaries of any players so people are just making these huge wages bills up, dont forget we wll be losing major 'earners' in Stewart, Watson etc.
As what has happened in the past when clubs have been given dispensations in the salary cap there is no court in this land that could force us to reneged on the contract already given out to players like Bibey, Paul and the others that have signed before we were relegated.

They will however watch who we sign from now on though.

They do that anyway as contracts have to be lodged with them and registration forms.

No chance - when he quits Manly, he'll be back at the Saints. Can you imagine him in Championship 1 ?
