It was officially announced on 17th Nov on this forum that Leigh Centurions are pleased to inform us of a shake up in the BOM and that Dan Carty was being put onto the new board, so not even 3 weeks really.

He started working for the club before that date, 9th October rings a bell

Out of interest which other business you know gives out a press release every time someone leaves?

Very Sad if true, a very nice man well respected by all who know him especially at Leigh Cricket club.

A well spoken honest professional guy of integrity who does nothing but good things for charity and the local community in his spare time and is very expierienced in sales and marketing.

It is true. Dan Carty has left the club at the end of his probationary period by ' Mutual Consent'.

As you rightly say Harold business can throw up these kind of things from time to time, however the minimum probationary period you would expect at Director level would be a minimum of three months surely?

Having only announced a new board structure which Dan was part of only three weeks or so ago I find this one very odd but don't know anything about it and haven't spoken to Dan himself or anyone at the club so wont speculate any further.

All I would say is in a commercially very critical week and on the eve of the clubs sponsers evening and such a crucial event it would seem a strange time to end the commercial directors probationary period if this indeed is what has happened as you seem to believe.

The relevance is that Brown also came in with a big build up and very quietly let go very quickly, but even he was given more time to settle in than Dan.
As for picking Brown over Kay and Higson then no I wouldn't but he was deemed good enough to bring onboard as was Dan Carty.

Your saying Brown was quietly and quickly let go, he played 2 games. Didn't perform as requested someone got his shirt, said player never let go. 3 months into season Brown was given opportunity to go out on loan.

Dan Carty came in did the probationary period and I guess a mutual agreement was that both parties should go their own way.

As I said originally your comparison is ludicrous and if I read it a different way it could be mis-read as another disgruntled fan/employee who appears to have axes to grind. Shame really as your actually a fan of one of the top 8 best run clubs in this country!

What a crock of e that reply is. I compared the TIME that both employees were given to settle in ie Not very much and Carty even less than Brown. and that was all I said.

As for miss-reading it as another disgruntled fan, far far from it Im on cloud 9 about and I don't need you to tell me anything about how our club is run.

It isn't any of our business Lynda. It's just some people seem to think they are higher than the BOD and have a divine right to know how long each member of staff spends on the bog.

It's just people giving their observations and opinions, we have ALL done that before. I don't recall anyone checking for toilet breaks though.

If you think our infrastructure matches Wire, Pies, Saints and Leeds then I'd say not YET, hence top 8



And again your love for Brown is a little strange he only had a year to prove the coaching staff were right to initially sign him. He ultimately failed as we have 2 better wingers!

32 man squad this year do you think all 32 wil remain happy and still with us in 2016? There's a few or at least a few names on here who seem fascinated with Alex Brown. I'd rather concentrate on Liam Kay, Tom Armstrong, Jake Emmett, Oli Wilkes, Jamie Acton, Sam Barlow to name but a few who also signed last year and think justified Paul's eye for talent.

As for Dan Carty personally unless it was a good friend of mine a close family relative or me I couldn't give a monkeys who the commercial director was I'd just want them to bring more revenue into the club to help take us back were we have always belonged!

I also don't understand where you seem to think I love Brown ? I didn't rate him at all ( but it wasn't me who chose to bring him onboard so I accepted the better judgement of those who knew better )....or did they ?

As for Dan Carty, I don't know him and had never heard of him until it was announced that we had acquired the services of a top class commercial director that was going to do great things for the club. A month is not enough to settle into stacking shelves at Tesco never mind feeling your way into a new Directors job. Who knows (somebody does) but he may even have quit and left us in the lurch. But I digress, my OP was that he had less time to settle than Brown (if he did indeed want to settle) The only point Im is that someone "may" have been seen to be a bit premature in selecting/sanctioning or just advising on the merits of both these appointees.

We as a club are quick to announce things, but why is there no statement now coming from the club as to what has happened.

The Labour Party are after good spin doctors give Andy a ring he can probably get you a break in politics.

As for your last sentence are you saying it would be a good idea for the club to give out an official press release stating the reasons why Alex Brown and Dan Carty no longer work for Leigh Centurions?

If you do that's just your opinion but if you could send me the link for any press release from any UK RL club stating the commercial director has left and reasons why that would make good reading.

Similarly if you find the same press releases for the parting of the ways for any winger leaving a club I'd be interested in that link to.
