| If Worthington is fit I would go with him and Higson in the centres for Sunday over Whiting. Simply because Whiting will not have had any time to train with the rest of the players and get to know our structures etc.
Would like him to have a week to settle in before going into a match, similar to how Lee Smith missed the Batley game. However if Worthington isn't back then he probably has to go straight in as we are lacking options.

Think Smith missed the Batley game as he wasn't registered with the RFL in time to be included in the 19 man squad. I see your point however it may be better to ensure Worthington is fully fit & get Whiting some game experience against London at home rather than Bradford away. Not sure which way is best really.

| Prawn sandwich brigade for us again. Missing the North Stand, but I can say it looks mighty impressive from where our seats were last week. Hope to see you all for the Sheffield game, unless I get a taste for the prawn sandwiches of course.

| Good to see Worthington is back, bad to see Beswick isn't. Think droping Ridy & seeing how Rangi & Ryan get on is a good move by Jukes to test all his half back pairings before going to Odsal.

Highlights from London last weekend against Swinton. Their number 7 (Barthau?) and 14 (Ackers?) look quite dangerous.
I don't expect our defence to be as soft as Swinton's was for some of those tries though.

Would give Worthington another week to recover from his injury, know it's a strong team to debut Whiting in but better tomorrow than away at Odsal. Higham is also carrying a knock so I'd leave him out of the first initial phase & bring him on when the game has settled down a bit. In order to help Foster I'd play him alongside the more experienced forwards & the leaders like Patterson (who I'm very glad to see back) and Hansen.

| Thought London were very good & could make top 4, v strong defensively and asked questions in attack. Thought our try line defence was woeful. We've got one player trying to cling on to the opponent with his finger tips while other players stand by and watch, this isn't good enough & could be part of the reason we've so many injuries. Think at times in attack we look as if we're always looking to create some fantastic play which is good but we also need to have a few set moves planned and practised which we seem to be lacking. Stokes is always a bad ref but today was something else, massively inconsistent. We got badly penalised for his mistakes but we should have done better. Then that last 20 min happened! Where did that come from?! We looked a beaten team, reminded me of watching us in the Super 8s. Then all of a sudden some amazing rugby from everyone in order to absolutely steal a win! Showed what quality we have & how good we are but I'd far rather us play like that for 80min, or at least the 1st 20 rather than the last!

| In view of the way the official reffed the game I was expecting a defeat as I just couldn't see a way back.
I felt we was looking jaded and nothing was working, we then had the last 15-20mins and I wondered where the heck did that come from as it was like watching us from last season-fantastic final showing!
Hard to tell how London played as the game was so stop start and plenty of piggyback penalties, our line defence though was again breached and more work is needed on one on one tackles (or team mates coming in to assist)but it was an improvement on the last 2 weeks so going in the right direction.
Not sure how we are with injuries or rotation but lets now get a settled side and stick with it for a few weeks, we need some consistency and the players need to learn each others strengths and weaknesses-go with the best 13 for now as I feel at times we still look like strangers playing together which is understandable when you look at the changes in playing personal in 3 games!
Happy with another 2 points though.

| We were a lot worse than the referee.
Said it before neither Chase or Brierley are play makers we only came back into it when play became broken up and that's were these two thrive, for me if Riddy doesn't play then Paterson has to.

| I wouldn't be a coach in a million years, but what I have seen so far this season and the back end of last as far as Ridy is concerned is he never breaks the line, gets caught in possession too often and needs a yard or two of extra pace. Sorry if that offends anyone but that is purely my opinion. Whether that is down to injuries he has been carrying because he has had to for the team I don't know. It does sound like Ridys hip injury is going to keep him out for a few weeks though so maybe yesterdays pairing will get a few games to gel into a very different partnership than we have been used to.

If you’re referring to me then no offence taken and I suppose it all comes down to what you expect from him, I don’t see him as needing to breaking the line I see him as reading what’s happening and putting someone else through, and often when he gets caught it’s because his runners aren’t there, whether that’s down to him or the others again is down to personal interpretation.
Yesterday we had no one directing traffic, Brierley did a lot of shouting and waving his arms around but then the vast majority of times he just caught the ball and passed it on to the next man. But again I don’t see him as the play maker, his job and what he’s good at is supporting the runner and finishing.

| I'm with you glow! Chase and brierly are good off he back of quick ball and broken line! We aren't going to get that all the time! We was too slow yesterday, I agree ridyard lacks pace but he's not there too make the holes he's there to put people through, that said I'm not overly bothered which 2 of the 3 play as we will always have 2 quality halfs, I do agree we need Patterson back and at 13 to help dictate the speed and flow of the game

| Agree and disagree with some points you've all made.
Think Chase though not as creative as Ridy, Higham or McNally is still able to set moves and players up, he's not just a pure out and out finisher of trys.
Agree with Ridy being the key to our reading of the game and organisation, always said you don't normally see him do that much but when we're without him we look a much worse team. I do think he lacks the pace though, I'm not sure he's quick enough to be a SL half back. He does also sometimes end up in blind alleyways spending too long thinking about what to do next before he gets/gives a hospital pass to get someone else clattered but every halfback in the game will do that from time to time.
For me on what I've seen so far this year I think Rangi & Ridy are our best halfback pairing. Ryan is an excellent finisher, get him on the end of a good offload and he'll be in, however we need people to play to make the chances for him & at the moment for one reason or another (be it injuries or players not used to each other yet or Jukes still working out his game plans and set moves or whatever) I'm not sure we're doing that quite as much as we have done in the past.

| I'm not convinced that Ryan's best position is half back, I'd love to see him supporting play from the more central position of full back?.
At the moment he is spending too much time out wide to have any influence on the game, could Lee Smith operate at half back? he certainly likes to take the line on and gave a cracking pass to Wilding for Rangi's try!
Ridyard remains our main play maker and Rangi should remain at scrum half !
