This is an unusual signing. For me and going off his past record he's a 6 or13 two positions we don't really need cover with Ridyard/McNally/Brierley in the halves and Duffy/Nicho at hooker I'd presume Beswick will slot in to 13. Welcome to Leigh and hopefully he'll do a job. Not an exciting player but is a solid defender and is another body on board.

Sorry if I've missed anyone out, fill the gaps. Not heard anything on Hoppy, is he confirmed for next season? We a definitely missing a good couple of props, especially now Bracek is out of the picture.

Cracking young player IMO with a lot of potential. Had the odd surge to throw the wonder ball but he worked very hard for the team and in a few games (Inc NRC final 2010) took it upon himself (at 20/21) to drag the team up.

Only the assault (?) charge etc stalled his career.

We will be having 4 duals again next season. We have a relationship with Wigan again (now Milward has gone), they will be releasing two players to us in January after they have made a decision who they feel will benefit from the arrangement and we will get a first pick of a list of players. Looking at continuing the relationship with Wire and taking a player from them also. We won't know who the dual players will be until January.

Very good BUT the longer everything goes on with us missing vital players hampers our Prep and like i said before we don't want to end up with players just for the sake who play in the same position.

That is excellent news. Wigan have some good young forwards, Crosby, Burke, Hughes (more of a backrower) and Spencer would all do a job for Leigh.

Keith Freer confirmed he will be signing tomorrow. Also, they have made an offer to an un-named prop who seems prepared to sign.

Who? Hoppy or Bracek? Bracek is still in talks with other clubs and has stated 'it wasn't to be' or something along those lines on Twitter.

He`s the one for the future and IMO a better signing than Bracek would ve been.

Totally agree pal........this guy was 1 of Widnes`s better players when he was there and his off-field antics put the brakes on his career - if he can get back on track then we have signed a superb player who will only get better and better IMO.

Good news about thornley, pownall, duffs and hoppy all signed up ( i think ) although keith freers statement that 14 were signed up dosent quite match the list already announced plus the ones there tonight ??

Sam Singleton played for Duffy's/Littler's u 18's last year and was a wow -do people on here only watch the 1st team? The Parky's gave him big 'wraps' and if anything Dave knows his players.

Sam has played halfback for his club and also fullback (Chorley Panthers) He played for us as a 9 last season in the 18s, cracking footwork, explosive pace and the ability to break the line. He was dynamic out of dummy half, a real exciting player.
