So he wasn't actually found to be doping? This is similar to Rio Ferdinand a couple of years ago, were he was banned but wasn't found to be doping.

Seems a bit of a harsh penalty considering he hasn't tested positive for anything. It sounds to me like they're just doing it to prove a point, rather than being logical about it.

If this was Sam Tomkins or Sam Burgess, the penalty wouldn't be as harsh I bet.

Well I for one am thankful to Sam. He worked hard for the team whilst he was here, coupled with some excellent performances. He was never an angel on the pitch (or seemingly off it).... But played with a lot of passion for Leigh.
I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Hope you don't mind me putting my three pence worth in but, I feel very sad for Sam, he is a great bloke and none of this changes my opinion of him.

Sad but not overly surprised when I heard the news. Despite all Barlow's protestations of innocence, I doubt he will be either. The evasion damned him on the doping front and the assault, no matter how trifling, compounded it. Referees are protected on the field of play by the threat of lengthy bans if they are man-handled. They have thousands of witnesses to dissuade the assailant from going too far. Inspectors attending players homes are not afforded that luxury and that is why the book has been thrown.

As he should have been advised to do a long time ago. Had he consulted any barista, he'd have been told to come clean, wear sackcloth and ashes and minimise both the ban and the expense as he was definitely f-UKAD.

Did his barrister advise that? Genuine question.

I do feel for Sam, and i have read his tweet on this matter, his situation does remind me of Renis documented misdemeanors . I hope Sam is only guilty of over reacting to a person acting strange at Sams property .

Not Sam's biggest fan but I do feel sorry for him. I hope certain people at Leigh now do the right thing by him in return for his silence.

In BFGs case I make a change of rules ,he CAN play with matches, or lie down on the East Lancs road, he's only been quiet because he's a Fax fan ,there's nowt to shout about there

Having seen the video Sam originally posted I think this is really strange
He carried on playing for four months after and despite the police being called he wasn't charged with assault
Something is not right with all of this but Sam is going to tell the whole story soon and until then I wish him well and I'm sure the club are helping him .
too many tragic events have happened with players in the past because they didn't get the support so it's important Sam is supported and helped through what must be an awful time

A lot of you commented on a very delicate situation, Sam has incurred a massive ban from the doping panel and he has never doped? If he has assaulted the said person why is he not doing time in prison?? Nobody knows what happened so it would be wise to keep our mouths shut till we find out? One thing I do know is he would still walk into our pack at 13 and make us a whole lot better!!

Don't think he has been sentenced yet has he Oggy. Judge wanted to wait for outcome of UKAD investigation I think.

I think a fully fit and on form Sam from 2014 would be in the 19 but not sure he would currently get any where near this team. Who would you drop to play Sam; Gaz or Cory?
