It would certainly be an interesting situation. Working in this area myself, nothing is ever black and white and is mostly confusing and murky.
Assuming Leigh cannot afford to pay Rangi to rejoin them as this would take you over the salary cap, it would seem unreasonable to restrict his employment by effectively saying "we don't want you, but nobody else can employ you either".

In fairness, Rangi's circumstances might suggest a move back to Cas would be sensible.
He has openly said things started to go wrong for him in his final season at Cas, with Salford courting him and endless rumours about his future.
He joined Salford but things didn't go well. His Castleford-based partner did not want to move and Rangi struggled to settle away from his family. He and his partner separated and he signed for Leigh in good faith thinking his relationship was over. However, he reconciled with his partner and therefore wanted to prioritise his family. As they still live in the Castleford area, it would make sense for him to give it another go at a local club where he has experienced success before.

Tell you what .. you can have Chase's registration papers and we will throw in Tonga to, how's that ? Deal or No Deal ?icon_smile.gif

Who the hell would pay money for chase is 1 question. But why would Leigh wanna keep hold of him (assuming he's stated he wants to get back playing) due to the wage he's on, clearly never even remotely settled at Leigh, Leigh are doing a okay without him, common sense states release him so at least you are no longer accountable for him contract wise.

So, if the next question was, who the hell would Chase for free? Well, wait and see.
