I am spending Good Friday in the Subby club so I am giving this away match a miss.

Besides i would rather our club have the money more than Warrington's A team so I am sending our club the cash I will save on admission, programme and raffle ticket.

Not decided if i am going to this game or not yet.

Can`t make it due to work commitments but will be there on Easter Monday.

I cannot even make that Bart as i am working Easter Monday.

My admission will be going to LISA for this game, if 1000 more did that then it would make a huge dent in the income gap.

That's not a bad idea to be honest. I would normally go, but with Swinton using Wires players i'll look after my own club thanks.

Be interesting to know how many don't go and donate the money to the club/LISA. Judging by comments on here, there should be quite a few!

Well I will be going and I urge all Leythers than can' to be there and cheer our lads on.

Widnes v Wire for me. Though if there hadn't been a clash I probably would have gone out of interest in the young lads who I have watched develop at Wilderspool over the past couple of years.

i do what i feel is right , not what other folk suggest , if i was at the game on my own so be it , im a Leyth fan first and a Rugby fan second ,in the Summer if its a nice day ,and Leigh have played on the Thursday , and Swinton are at home , i will be at the LSV watching , folk dont like it , TOUGH .

Well I for one can assure you Alan, as I only live round the corner from Lynda that I will be dropping off a cheque at Lynda's house over the course of the weekend (payable to LISA)

I'm away working in Scotland for a couple of day's next week and I will only get back home late Thursday evening. I will therefore be spending Good Friday out with the family rather than spend my time on a nothing match v Wire Reserves (coached by Wire's Youth team coach)

Even if I only spend Good Friday with them waiting in the pub for the rest of our lot to return from the match



Easter Monday is my day watching Leigh

Shouldn't this thread now be re-named Warrington v Wigan Good Friday?

I don't think anyone has any objection to you watching Leigh, most people will actively encourage you to attend this match and support the lads. I completely understand that aspect.

The reason I am not is A) The match does not appeal to me one bit B) I think Trevor Barton and the players would rather I send my admission money to them rather than Swinton Wolves and C) I have other activities planned on Good Friday, including watching some grass to grow.



I will be there on Monday to support the lads, both financially and vocally.

For those fans who think the Good Friday game against Swinton is a "Nothing " game just ask Paul R or the Leigh players if they think it is a nothing game , the winner will get three points towards their total for the Top 8 at the end of the season .

As for Gary Chambers being the Wire youth team coach , who is paying his wages ?He is the new Swinton Coach , and has left Wire , if thats the case ,Batley are coached by the Wigan reserve coach , Halifax are coached by the Salford coach , and Wire are coached by the Leeds coach

As i said its up to the individual what games they attend , its what suits them and what they want to watch , myself i cant stand watching Soccer , i do think your reason for the (B) part of your post is wrong ,as the players have always stated at away games how the Leigh fans life them and their performances .

They said the same about their nine(?) players who have 'left' Wire...the same ones who train with Warrington every week.

I have no doubt our staff and players will be taking it seriously, Swinton on the other hand have turned it into a 'nothing' season. Will all the Warrington players equally be taking it as seriously as Leigh's?


You will be telling me next all the Swinton Woves costs, staff and players are actually paid for by Swinton.

Obviously i cant say how Swinton or the Wire players will look at the Game , but as Professionals and even Semi professionals i would have thought they would take it seriously , are you saying all Swinton fans should just stop watching Swinton ?

As for the costs i think the Parent club pays so much and Swinton pay a fee for having them play , but im not sure ?Also havent Swinton D-R the full Wire squad ?I think Leigh are talking about a couple of Wigans youngsters , thats all .

Matt as i have said , im sure Swinton have D-R the full Wire squad , and i think they have actually signed some players like Shaw , and Riley , and a couple of others as contracted players , im not sure about that , but Marshy would tell you better .

The 'contracted' players (Mendieka and the like) were initially announced as dual contract players - as if by magic they've now been released from Warrington (despite no press coverage indicating this) yet somehow still train with Warrington as well as Swinton?! Anyway, they're not really our problem as such but there's no doubting that the integrity of the league is being damaged with each week.

Well thats what im saying , what Swinton do is up to them , not me as a Leigh fan , i watch whoever Leigh play , if Leigh were playing Workington next week , and they played 17 Eskimos i would still go and watch Leigh , not say im not going because they are not really Workington players , for me once a player pulls on a shirt of a said club , he becomes that said clubs player .

On Good Friday , i will be at the LSV watching Leigh , maybe on my own , but i will still be there .

Championship clubs don't pay anything for/to the DR players. There's merely a (token) amount taken off their salary cap limit for each game played.

Ill be at Leigh watching the game, but I may get in late V Worky, because I wanna watch United
