For the sake of the sport it is more important to get this right, if that means waiting another 12 months then so be it, we've just had 5 years of decline with licencing, we cannot afford another 5/6 with this

What the 'rebels' have to say, should be interesting. They obviously have a point to make. I guess what hasn't been good for the game, is the apparent lateness of their decision to revolt. From all accounts, the majority, if not all the SL clubs, seem to have been ok with what was on the table, until the last moment.

As I understand it Alan the ' rebels ' have been asking for more details of how this new structure will work for several months, they have been promised but not delivered , it is eventually frustration at the lack of this information that has prompted their actions

The RFL have been sloppy in their ' risk assessments ' when introducing various rules and structures in the past, it seems the ' rebels ' are not willing to let this happen again

Bandwagons are best left unjumped on

Not enough details from the RFL, no details whatsoever from the complaining SL 6. What an awesome sport. Lets sit on our hands until everyone is bankrupt!



Genuine question - what do you feel was so great about how we ran the game in the 70's and 80s?

My reading of RL history sees the RFL lurch from one set of buffoons to the next. In living memory it has always been the club chairman (only SL ones now) who have run the game, and until they cede that control, there is no hope of effective change.

What the SL 6 almost certainly want is to put their own puppets in place, and to keep all of the Sky money in SL. Not one of those Chairman have ever expressed an interest in helping anything but their own clubs.
