Anyone know what happened to these players?
Mark Thomas
Mark Roberts
Mark Roskell
Did they all retire relatively early with injuries? They seemed to be regular fixtures in the Warrington forwards from around 1987-89 but then pretty much disappear.

Roberts had his career ended by injury.
Roskell had his ended by the arrival of Duane Mann.
Thomas just drifted away from the club and the availability of better players..

He didn't go on to play for anyone else it seems, which is unusual. Nor did Thomas.
Normally, such a player dropped down a division to a smaller club like Leigh or Oldham (or probably should have been a Cumbrian club in Roskell's case). |

My therapist was pleased with my progress
I was a big fan of all three.
Recalling my programme from the First Test in 1989, Mann was described as a hooker that could play second row. So I was a bit gutted when Roskell left, totally.
Thomas was yet another to wear the tag [i scapegoat[/i by the Wilderspool "faithful". He could open up defences with his great passes. A good passing second rower is rarer than hen's teeth, these days |
