Has the new shot clock idea for scrums done away with a team being able to rush & form a scrum to stop the clock ?

both teams must rush to form the scrum within the time on the shot clock or will be penalized. as soon as the scrums is formed the shot clock is called off and the ball must be played into the scrum immediately.

The new rules worked for me as there was little fannying around at the scrum and goal line drop out. Also, can't remember an invasion of water carriers, physios, doctors etc. Have they been banned?
Makes for a better game and hope this continues.

Wasnt a fan of it myself, all the players were there ready to set the scrum, but the back rowers were not packing down till the last couple of seconds. Just form the scrum and play, not waiting for the full allotted 30 seconds

so you'd rather take away the shot clock and go back to teams strolling to the scrum with the clock off for over a minute in most cases?

with this system the ball is back in play in less than 30 seconds, whats not to like? it rewards fitness and skill too as teams and puposely going down with 'cramp' to get their breath back.

I'm not sure what happens though if the attacking team is formed up and ready to put the ball in but the defending team takes over 30 secs. Is that a penalty to the attacking team?

I actually thought this game was better than the Saints match where they really did seem to want to use up the full time allowed, we (us and Leeds) just seemed to get on with it.

The clock at London yesterday started on 35 seconds, is it 30 or 35?

35 for scrums, 30 for drop outs.
