I was critical of him earlier in the season, didn't think he offered anything that Penny didn't, but lately I have to admit that he's winning me over. He still has areas to improve on, but he returns the ball pretty well, nothing flashy but I have to say he doesn't go backwards when he hits the line, I too often see players returning the ball and being held up and pushed 5 metres back, Ormsby doesn't allow that.

His finishing these past few games is brilliant. Absolutely fantastic. He's willing to A) back himself for the corner and B) willing to take a hit in order to get the ball down. His disallowed try today and his one last week were very impressive. He's not the fastest guy and Penny has that over him but Penny also is man handled a lot more than Gene. It's a tough choice but I'm glad to see Ormsby making more of a fist of it these days.

I only have one criticism of him....he needs to sort his hair out! Otherwise he's excellent.

That should have been a penalty. His finish at the weekend was far more impressive than the one at Salford. The Salford one wasn't intentional, he got knocked up in the air by the defender. Was a shame to see it struck off, despite the blatant cheating by Harrison.

Ormsby clearly jumps up in the air V Salford and then gets hit, it was superb. I do prefer his chalked off one against you though. I don't think Harrison purposely cheated, like I've said, in that second or two I honestly don't think he thought he was held, the back of his hand barely scrapes the grass and Amor only has hold of his shirt.

I like Ormsby but I didn't think penny did anything wrong to be replaced in the first place, he was are best player by far at the start of the season. I do agree with penny being manhandled a bit more but penny isn't afraid of anyone and doesn't take a backwards step. He'll take the ball up again and again, helping the forwards save a bit more energy. And I think the energy penny brings to the squad is brilliant, him and now Dwyer could motivate the people around them a bit better. It's hard to say one is better then the other though as they both have quality and some faults, I just think it was a bit unfair for penny to be dropped in the first place. Does anyone have an injury update on Russell and wheeler? I've not heard anything for a bit.

I'm a big fan of Penny's, but I thought that the Salford game he showed one or two of those old frailties such as losing the ball in the collision.

Yet I'm sure that Gene is always just a couple of average games from being the next scapegoat...

That's possibly part of a bigger problem, despite him getting a second chance, a lot of people are probably waiting for him to have a bad game(even fail perhaps) so they can say, see he hasn't changed.

Not saying you are of course, i can understand it, but it never occured to me like that.

All that said, had penny dropped that pass like ormsby did, the above would occur, not much has been said of that mistake.

I'm not sold on Ormsby, of the two, id rather have penny on the wing currently, although neither will probably be long term fixtures.

Your player barely had hold of Harrison's shirt as his forearm touched the ground. It is sheer pedantry (and slow motion) that led to him being called on it. Might as well have been playing tag rugby if we're calling that as "held".

I was only joking with the cheating bit. But it's a clear penalty, you can't overrule a technicality because you scored a nice try. I do wonder if he would have asked for that to be checked had Roby not been appealing all the way to the dead ball line.

I agree with this comment. The lad's come in and done well and scored tries!!

We have a lot of good young players, we just need some experience in the key areas to guide them.
