Most deprived, high poverty and high unemployment cities have problems, Hull is no exception. Walking to my car I looked around the sink estates, dog crap festooned streets, gangs of youths, litter and boarded up shops and thought Britain really is broken.

7 years ago i used to drive a bus in London, it used to go through the West End so you can imagine it was pretty busy the capacity when full is 80 people and from the start to end of shift when logging off our ticket machines it would tell you how many people you'd picked up which was usually between 900-1200 a day.

In that whole shift you'd only remember the one person that gave you grief, that one person would ruin most drivers day, that one person would make a driver come back to the garage saying
"god, i really hate the public"
Most people would dismiss the other 1199 people who were courteous and polite.

Why do we have to dwell on the negative?

I have an idea each club on the back of their tickets should have a number or email address, let them know the nature of the problem the time it occurred and it's location.
That way we could have proactive stewarding and policing and start to cut out all this nonsense.

That would be an excellent idea, I think Leeds are already doing something along these lines with a text number.

We (Rovers) really need to doing something about the North stand, it's great having a mixed stand but not if it's not properly supervised. I don't mean having a heavy handed presence, just polite staff who can spot when something has the potential to escalate and have a quiet word.

A text number that all fans could use to instantly alert the stewards to any problems printed on the back of tickets or on hoardings facing the stands would be a great idea.
