How much is the cost of the ground development at Wire, and how long will it take to recover that cost, when you only fill it twice a season (V Wigan & Saints)?
I've been told that the cost is being wholly met by two of the board members.
As for being full only twice a season. It is the home areas that is being expanded. At present it is limited to around 10000 home fans. We regularly meet that number. With the extension it would give us room for 12000 home supporters if the west stand is away only.
Quote="Wires71"The only downside is we have to pay for "filling in the corners" whereas the Goons don't need too. Oh and their stadium is vastly superior but not as "sexy and state of the art" as ours.'"
1 advantage of owning our own stadium is that we have a better understanding of future costs. The terms and conditions of renting, can and do change. 1 potential problem for Wigan I guess is that things depend on how the football club do. Would relegation for instance force changes to the T&C's?
