1. If you are going - great - I will be there with you
2. If you have reasons for non attendance - fine, no problems, get down when you can.
I am delighted to be giving the club my hard earned cash - the more games I have to pay for the better, it means we are successful. I knew at the start of the season that my season ticket entitled me to attend games during the regular season only plus a cup tie - if I wanted to attend away games, Magic Weekend, cup semi finals, Wembley final, play offs home and away or even a Grand Final I knew that I would have to queue up (or have someone do it for me) and exchange cash for the priviledge of attending.
I am lucky enough to be able to sort myself, my daughter and my father with tickets for these extra games, I am aware that others are not or have different priorities.
For the record - it took me 5 minutes to queue up and walk away with tickets, the very helpful lady in the East Stand ticlet booth also sorted me out with my dad's north stand ticket
Good times - long may they continue
'"
And a fine young lady she was I tried to make the transaction last a bit longer but I'm affraid it only took a few minutes

| If people can't afford to go the game then, obviously, that is the most legitimate reason imaginable (apart from a birth or death maybe).
However I don't understand why people can whinge at the club for "not rewarding loyalty" by reducing ticket prices. They're running a business whether we like it or not and dropping prices for our biggest league game of the season would be lunacy.
As an aside, if we start regularly finishing in the upper echelons of the league table, maybe they could sell season tickets for a bit extra that include a playoff game. I live in Manchester and it is a bit of a ball ache sorting tickets for one off matches - I'd happily pay a premium for my ST if it meant I didn't have to mess around come playoff time.

| Must admit it is getting shockingly expensive. but thats the price of winning trophies and challenging for the top honours in the game.
With Wembley, Harlequinns and Saints i have spent nearly a grand in 3 weeks for the 4 of us, I am questioning this week and may save the cash so that I can manage the Semi and Final a little easier.

Thats the best idea i have read for a long time, and mirrors the conversation i had yesterday when i had to justify £80 for 4 tickets. I agree i think it is expensive especaily as i want to buy my next years season tickets later this month or next to get the early bird discount, but my view is i would rather have to make the decision as to weather i buy a ticket or watch on the telly than have no decision to make because my team didnt make it

| I know it's not easy to find the money for the extra games.
But lets think about what the alternative is!!!!!!!!!!!
No play off games, no Wembley, season finished early in September.
Been there done that, don't want to do it again.
Success means extra games.

| Why on earth would anyone who lives in/near Warrington go to Harlequins away, a game with minimal riding on it and a fair amount of expense and organisation required to get down to London on a Friday night, then miss this because it's too expensive?
Before anyone starts I'm not knocking anyone who went to Quins, but aside from the exiles down south I can imagine only those who go to every game no matter what would go to that one. If you're going to pick and choose because of cost then I can't fathom how an elimination play off match, which also happens to be the last match at home of the season and first since we retained the Cup, would be one to swerve, but an end of season Friday night trip to London less than a week after the expense of Wembley would be one to do. Madness!

| As The Chosen One says the reward for loyal fans is to give you/us/them another week of footie.
As has been said it is a business but i would think they want to win more for the fans and we'll have to be happy that they are delivering results.

| Just because you can't afford tickets, doesn't mean the club should bring the ticket prices down.
I can't afford to go either, but that's my problem as I've not saved enough money.
Play off rugby is a premium, set aside for the best 8 teams in the league and therefore should supply premium levels of entertainment for the fans. I'm quite sure football clubs would be increasing their ticket prices for each game. Take a deeper look at the savings you make with your season ticket. Not just getting one or two games for free at the HJ, but the shop discounts, the free entry to 18's and 20's games, the free sandwich Nando's (or similar meal at similar restaurant, etc). They give us an awful lot of discounts already as ST holders
I'm not questioning your reasoning for non-attendance of course, just questioning who you're blaming for your non-attendance.
Maybe next time, have a pint or two less on a match day or a Friday night, walk to the shop instead of driving, read the Guardian website instead of buying the actual paper each week. Any money you save over the year, put it in a jar and you'll soon have plenty of cash to pay for your play off tickets.

| There is no justification whatsoever for moaning about ticket prices for this game. They’re the same prices they’ve been all season and it is top-level sport in a knock-out game, between two excellent sides, so £11-£24 to watch that is a bargain and you won’t get a better value-for-money equivalent at the pinnacle of many sports. Also, if you value the Super League crown above all else, it makes Saturday our most important (and potentially last) game of the season. Most people wouldn’t want to be missing that.
I appreciate that people may have other priorities or circumstances that prevent them from attending and that some genuinely can't afford it – that’s fine, but those who can probably make it if they wanted to but prefer to try and blame the club for their own decision are just kidding themselves. You’ve taken a conscious decision not to go for whatever reason, and again, that is absolutely fine and doesn’t make you any less of a fan at all. However, don’t then try to turn your decision around on the club because they don’t hand out freebies or massively discounted tickets. It just makes you sound like a complete mard @rse.
Personally, I think there is always a way to find enough cash to attend a Wires game over the course of the approaching week. If you have to fork out a fortune to take the wife, kids, parents, etc – then just say “Sorry folks, daddy can’t afford to take you to this one – you’ll have to watch it at [insert friend/relative/pub name here”. You then go to the game on your own. If you can’t bear to leave the family for 3 hours or it would ruin your game not having them there with you, then fine – but again, don’t blame the club.
Some people would go without eating tea for a week, driving the car unnecessarily or visiting the pub, etc to ensure they could attend a game. Others aren't prepared to do this, which is fine, as long as you accept responsibility for your decision (like ISWT has, above) and, for the last time, don't slag the club off.

| Is right Monsieur.
I find it laughable that some people were expecting discounted tickets for this. Most football clubs in a similar situation would put the prices up!

| Anyone expecting a five figure attendance you will be very wrong. I know of eight people already and thats just who I know in the North Stand not going to Saturdays game now reason being it's too "expensive". Also the best supported club in the land this year, Wigan only managed 12k through their gates at their FIRST Play Off game and that was against Leeds! The added attraction of a better team and a better following about 1.5-2k from Leeds so about 10000 from Wigan. Then we have our game V Saints on Friday night, 14k. 5k of that was Wire at least so theres 9k from Saints for the visit of arch rivals Warrington again in the FIRST Play Off game. We get about 10-11k in the league game on a Sunday and for this one season ticket holders have to pay and it is on SKY. No way it will be a five figure - 7-8k for me.
re: Tickets. At the end of the day I'm not going, it's my opinion that the tickets are "overpriced" and I DID expect them to be reduced for this game as a thank you for our wonderful support at every away game, Wembley and the Town Hall, but I was wrong. Overpriced. Just an opinion.

The dicision is entirely yours and not for others to comment on, just one question... should we win this week, will you pay £17 to go to St Helens or £20 to Leeds?

On what basis did you expect it though? When have we ever dropped ticket prices as a thank you? Also, our support is wonderful at every away game - it's crap at a fair few.
Also, how are they overpriced - do they cost more than a normal league game?
Not arguing by the way, just curious. You're quite entitled to go as many or as few games as you like.

im sure 74 was expecting a reduction on behalf of trying to get a good attendance for the game. a good marketing ploy like wigan did with the 10 pound tickets for the wire game, surely a full stadiim is better than an empty one. i reckon 7.5 k to be there. i for one plus 3 wont be attending and i know of 5 famlies who wont be attending either. i shall be watching it from the comfort of my own room having saved 62 pound.

As said in my first post, yes as that is partly the reason I am not going on Saturday, because my funds won't stretch that far with me going to week 3.

As said previously, after Friday nights poor performance and our last home game of the year, to get bums on seats and to thank the supporters for their wonderful attendances this year, I expected tickets to be lowered. say Adults £12 Consessions £7 or £10 & £5. I know Huddersfield reduced ticket prices to get the fans in.
I think £24 is overpriced tbh, to sit in the North Stand, (Yes I am aware that is the normal price for any league game) I still think it's expensive, and as a previous poster said 'great value?' I got seats in Wembley Stadium behind the sticks six rows up for two pound dearer, in what is the most historic competetion in the world of Rugby League and there were tickets for less than £24, £21 IIRC. You could watch a game of Premier League football for a pound dearer at one stadium. Irrelevant, I know, just making the point that £24 is abit expensive, IMHO.
As said, I've only missed Bradford (A) CC this season, hand on heart.

| If these people who are sitting in the north stand are not going because of it not being a cheaper ticket why dont they go in the east?
I dont expect it to be cheaper. The last time I went to a home play off match I had to go in the north and pay full wack. But it was a must go match.

| Personally I just can't get my head round why people would swerve this match unless they really have to.
Fair enough if they had jacked the prices up people would be annoyed but they haven't. They're the exact same price as every other game and outside of the Challenge Cup Final (and argubly the semi) this is our biggest game of the season so far.
It is bigger than last Friday because there's no second chances and it's our biggest home game of the season by a long long way.
No chance will I be missing it.

And I'm glad you're going, but there was no chancde I'd be missing the likes of Quins (A), Cru (A) all the away games I've been this season which is every SL one.
This game just came at a bad time for me financial wise and I did expect a reduction.

| The apathy on here does show me one thing though - something needs to be done to spice up the play offs.
I'm not sure what but it's clear the current system doesn't excite a lot of people.
I text my mate (not into RL really but moved to Warrington recently and said he'd be up for a few games) to see if he wanted to come and he said yeah then asked if it was pay on the gate. I replied saying I doubt it as it's effectively a Super League quarter final match and our biggest home game in many years, so I'll get us tickets on Wednesday.
How wrong I was - looking at this thread we'll be able to pay on the gate and probably have a whole block of the West Stand to ourselves!
Sorry people, each to their own but there's an overwhelming lack of enthusiasm for a huge match here and I can't get my head round it.

| Final = we can win it. Semi-final = we get a chance to win a place at Old Trafford. This weekend = well we get a chance to get a chance of winning it. Coupled with the fact that for many season ticket holders its a "superleague" game they are having to shell out just after Wembley, a trip to Saints and a (hopefully) possible semi and final.
I cant make this weekend (but have been at every home game this season and some away). Not because I dont wont to but because I couldnt make plans in time to get there due to the uncertainty over when the game would actually play.

| I would love to go on Saturday but I’m at a wedding all day so can’t make it, if we progress and play on the following Friday I can’t make it either as I’m at another wedding. If it’s the Saturday I’m fine as long as it’s a 6pm kick off as I’m at another wedding in the evening!
I also missed the cup final due to a stag do for a wedding in October!!
