I'm not surprised, every single try was scored through and around him last week.

I think it said he had a week to lodge his appeal. There is a lot at stake for him and the club. Not the sort of decision to be rushed. I can also see potential conflict with the lawyers saying eg minimal chance of success but Maguire wanting to appeal anyway.

Well I heard that although the club are obviously disappointed in McGuire they are pretty unhappy with how they've been treated by the disciplinary panel.

Thewlis, Lomax, Wrench, Ashton is a pretty good three quarter line.

Lomax i'd be very suprised if we have signed him. I can see lodge coming as most NRL clubs i can't see taking a risk with, Despite his physical attributes. Less pressure from Journos and being in the spotlight all the time over here might be good for him. We'll see

There has been a quality player in there for sure. If you can get the best out of him it'd be an outstanding signing. But it's a huge IF again, particularly around his behaviour and the kind of person he is. If he comes over and gets into trouble or leaves early under a cloud, the club would be open to criticism from their own fans that they just don't learn.

If Warrington are trying to build a winning culture, signing players like Matt Lodge is a pretty dodgy way to do it.

Lomax would be a quality signing as a player, although I'm not sure he's worth marquee money. He's on £378,000 per year according to the reports from Australia and has 18 months left on his current contract. He is going to need someone to hand him the difference between his current deal and whatever you offer him you'd expect so he's not out of pocket. NRL teams will often do deals to get players off their cap, but that's a big salary for a centre when you've already got King on a wedge as well and Wrench who needs to play and Ratchford still around?

Ratchford is playing a much bigger role than expected this year, the expectation was that he would be a utility player who could offer us great cover options. I think next year he will go on to become that, I’m not expecting him to have a consistent role in the 17 in 2024.

King may be here, may be not. If he isn’t I’m sure we could find a home for him. Wrench likely to be fighting for a centre position in 2024 and Mata'utia is expected to retire. So as things stand (King aside) we have one centre signed up for next season (Wrench), with Ratchford able to cover. I still say the smart money is for King to not be here in 2024 given how he left.

Unless King wants to be here & be part of the team we don't need him.
