| Roberts was fine - we scored enough tries to win a game.
The two major disasters were Livett and Murdoch-Masila: neither did any defending worthy of the name.
The commentary from Hemmings was utterly shocking; probably as bad as I have known. And then he claimed to be neutral at the end.

| I don't know what it is about players when they've just signed contracts but both Livett and Patton stunk the place out tonight.
Some of the players were clearly running on empty after the Wigan game but that's when you expect your bench to man up, dig in for their team and up the workrate and the subs, Philbin apart, were rubbish.
BMM wobbling around, getting in the way and more of a liability than a drunk uncle in flammable clothing at a fairly barbie.
Akola, Asotasi or whatever he's called thinking a hatful of penalties and a try represents a good evenings work and then Dec making everyone pray there was a hooker-only clause in that contract.

| 1 very good goal kicker is much better than 5/6 average ones. As someone pointed out at least stick with ONE for a while. Changing all the time and mid-game is sloppy and ends up costing you. Ratchford was kicking very well earlier in the season (especially away at cas) and lost that role for no apparent reason.

Yep. I agree it is a problem. It was your very repetitive simple idea that you go out and "buy a kicker" repeated several times that made me question you. I know kicking is important, you know kicking is important, we all know kicking is important ... but you can't just go out mid-season and buy a kicker.

| Fair result in the end, we didn’t do enough to win.
Goal kicking was poor, defending was poor across the board and anyone from Livett to Hughes to Lineham to Atkins to Goodwin were anonymous in attack and Patton had a stinker.
We all looked tired in the first five minutes.
But it’s only one game, only one loss, we’ll have more important games this season, some will be against Cas. Just need to make sure the mentality and application is right for those games

| As I've said before. Trophy winning sides have TOP NOTCH kickers, not just "can doers" .
We've lost a game we should have walked. Fair play to Cas. They've turned up with a hotchpotch side, and got the win. We score 20 unanswered points, and then take the foot of the gas. Unprofessional. But missed conversions are, on the whole, self destructive.
Price needs to get someone as his kicker, and have him practice, practice, PRACTICE.
Great kickers aren't born. They do it through practice.
Botica didn't just hope for the best.
Yaya never missed a penalty for City
Jordan Speith (who is regarded as the best putter in world golf) isn't just lucky when he gets on the green.
They PRACTICE so it's like shelling peas.
We need to make the best of a bad job, now..
Price needs to trust his judgement, and pick a kicker, and get him to practice RELENTLESSLY.
And come October, make sure we've got one for 2019.
Kicks win matches

You didn't play us Gary, no way. We made 200 meters more than you, missed less tackles, completed more sets and kicked at goal and ultimately scored more points which is the aim of the game . Your arrogance was there for all to see when at 20 20 you declined the kick. We were the better side tonight and thoroughly deserved the win.

| Being fair to Livett the first two kicks were from the touchline. Kicks which even the worlds best miss from time to time. I also thought that the referee was over pedantic with both sides. However in the second half they played on that a lot better than we did.

Didn't say you didn't deserve the win but Warrington crossed the line more than cas did, something the pundits seemed to had forgotten in their summary when waxing lyrical about how cas outplayed Warrington. I don't for 1 minute think cas outplayed Warrington. They won because they kicked more goals, I wouldn't class that as out playing but won fair and square.

| Some great posts on this thread and thanks to those who have given Cas credit. I expected a Cas side to turn up with the objective of keeping the score down but it was obvious from the 1st minute they'de come to win. I do agree with some that the Wigan game took a lot of juice out of you and as the teams trooped off at half time Wire players had their heads down and looked dejected compared to Cas.Not sure about the kicking argument as Turner made his debut and took over the kicking duties very well and when he went off Milner kicked his first ever goal. Anyway the way things are going I can see us meeting in the grand final and what a game that would e. go. Good luck for the rest of the season.

| We’ve got a quality goal kicker in Roberts, for some reason though, he’s not taking up the responsibility.
A big issue for us, for sure.

Hemmings tonight....
1. Consistently tried to cast doubt over dead cert Warrington tries when referred to video ref.
2. Rarely had a good word to say about our performance.
3. Could barely hide his excitement when Castleford re-took the league.
4. Took glee in the fact that Castleford were on the same points as Warrington with a game in hand.
It was as bad as his "Oh no" moment when we scored a decisive try last season.
As for Murdoch-Masila I think he should only be given the ball when we are 10 yards away from the opposition line on the 4th tackle. Certainly never when we are in our own half looking for a steady drive unless we are 19pts or more up.

| Out played by Cas in terms of faster play the balls & making more yardage with ball in hand. Intelligent play in trying to score nearer the post to give the kicker a chance. We had 3 or 4 kicks on the touchline which is hard for any goalkicker, if we had kicked all the goals we would have won .
Memo... need to perfect fast play the balls involving moving off the mark to get a penalty from contact with the marker.
Memo... need to learn to con ref into not seeing us offside at ptb.
Memo...need to score nearer to posts to give a better chance to goalkicker.

| Pretty bizarre result tonight. I haven't seen any of it yet as I was at our game. How did you ship that many points to that Cas lineup? No Moors, Gale, Roberts, Ellis or McShane? That's arguably all their best players, I thought you'd win by 30 tonight.

| Why do they always make such a fuss about the “Super League Legend” who nominates the man of the match award, and which inevitably keeps Eddie’s pants excited for the last 15 minutes of any game, remaining anonymous? I can only assume he’s just back from a tour of duty with the SAS in Syria or something

Not sure you would have won if you kicked all your goals..... The score would have been 36-34 to you but we had a few late penalties which could of tied the game at 36 all so down get too downhearted at the fact you missed 3 kicks.

And Watts, who has been our best forward since he signed. And Eden who is a massive attacking threat and meant we had a midget playing on the wing who Charnley could outjump without jumping.

| Sorry to get in the way of a the easy/obvious/simple "facts" but our kicks at goal were much more difficult and were pretty close to going over. Please don't assume that we just buy the Cas kicker and all will be rosy.
Cas moved the ball better than us.
Why hasn't QLT played in Super League? Is there anyone else playing in the Championship e.g. Sammut ... who ought to be playing with the big boys ... but has been written off as "not Super League standard".
