Marginally. His kicking game is certainly better but I'm still not watching a marquee halfback.

Agreed, but he’s getting better as this game goes on. Maybe it’s confidence?

| Also, Tanginoa has got a fair bit of pace. I think he bombed a try though.

Indeed. All Stars have looked much more dangerous with Leeming on and D Clarke off. Food for thought there.

I'm not sure what's going on with Clark. Is it simply a poor pre-season due to that operation? There's more to it than a lightweight pack.

He's not been the player he was for getting on for a couple of years.

| Clarke was bang average. I thought Mclorum had a decent enough game. McShane was poor. Leeming has to be in the mix somewhere as he gave the all stars a bit of spark when he came on, making a couple of breaks and setting up a try.

| Leeming was brilliant, he'd be my starting Hooker for England. Clark was ok but he looks like a spent force now, hoping it's just an off season and he'll get back to form again for us.
I genuinely didn't see that much difference in Williams to be honest, don't get the commentators hype about him at all. Cooper did what cooper does every game, and Mata'utia was........average at best. All in all it was a good fast paced game to watch and a decent win for us

| I didn't see the game, as I'd watched the second half of the women's international and that was enough RL for me for one day. It wasn't great. I turned on at the end of the England v All Stars game at the end to find out the score, and found the Sky team getting rather excited by the performance of Williams. My immediate reaction was of annoyance, giving how he'd been in the P&B this season, and thought of "if only" Wane was our coach. What were your thoughts on how Williams did?

| There were a lot of question marks surrounding Williams selection before the game and Sky talked about it a lot prior to kick-off. I thought that Williams had a better game than I’ve seen from him this season but I also thought that Sky went a bit overboard in their praise. He was solid, he backed up well for his try, made a couple of half breaks and put in some decent short kicks.

He has certainly lost that bit of zip. He was sh*t off a shovel in his early days but I'm afraid that's gone. Happens to 'em all.

I think Sky went over the top with the constant mentioning how average he had been for Wire... they seemed unable to mention his name without it. He'd still be very handy behind a dominant pack. There are few half backs who shine when their side's struggling.

| SkY went totally over the top, Williams was ok and backed up well for the try, his short kicking game was better but that was about it - all the flair and danger was coming from Tomkins and Welsby.
Bateman wss England's best, Leeming for the AS.
Cooper made some good bustling runs, missed some tackles and made some unenforced erors. I'm increasingly unconcerned by his departure.
Clark's performance? As good a reason for Walker to be in the 17 every week as I can think of.

| Interesting to note that William's played on the left edge last night. Now that maybe because Lomax was injured and Welsby favours the right edge. Or it could be that Wane knows him better than anybody and knows that William's plays better on the left.
Either way his kicking game was a lot more accurate.

| Watched Bulldogs vs Tigers earlier, Vaughan played for 47mins, put in 16 hit ups making 136 metres......then got sin binned with 3 mins to go ha ha
Good solid performance from him, nothing fancy just a hard graft, no nonsense forward. He's currently 4th in the league for post contact metres with 936 metres. If he can bring that over here (minus the sin bin) He'll make a good solid starting prop for us i think.
I expect him to be on a 2 year deal as well when announced. Which would mean 4 of our props would be off contract at the same time so another rebuild in the forwards would be expected.

To be fair, I was happy with his sin binning as weird as it sounds. He got pinged for holding down after chasing a wests break near the end when the game was already won. Hope that attitude rubs off on a few of our lot.

Was going to make this point.
He played exclusively on the left for 5 years at Wigan.
Given the simple task of run, or play short to Farrell or out the back to Tomkins. Only really kicked when close to the line (he’s good at this).
Played on the right at Canberra because Wighton is best on the left.
Think he should get back to basics, get him on the left, run first. Find him a half back partner who will do all the open field kicking.

Yeah i always thought he played on the left edge, same as Holmes, always played on the left and is a great second rower. We've moved him to the right and he's playing nothing like he usually does.

I assume that Powell played Holmes as right side 2nd row, so that it didn`t upset Currie, who was had played there throughout his career.
Holmes needs to be moved to left side 2nd row, to see if he can rediscover his form, and if it upsets Currie, then.......tough.

| Just watching Saints v Leeds tonight. Leeds unlucky to be not level at the break. And that was never a try at the end by Grace. First off the ball only touched the floor after he was held up. I'd consider that to be a double movement. Secondly on the replays it looked like the ball fell out of his hand and then touched the floor. A real stinker and it was only given because it went up as a try by the ref.
Also Saints seem to master slowing the play the ball down, but without getting pinged by the ref. Really frustrating watching them defend. I suppose it's fair play to them that they have mastered it and get away with it. Maybe we should try to emulate.
