| Someone pointed out a couple of weeks ago that Agar's record as Assistant Coach is not bad. He's here as Assistant Coach. I love the assumptions that people are making from this Sims appearance.

without wanting to be all 'rubber duckie' as that was never my intention, none of my comments have been based on the back of the simms interview.

| We're all presuming it's Agar that's the problem.
That just because we perceive him to be e?
The guy MUST have something having gone from assistant at Hull FC to head coach and then to Wakefield as head coach.
He's an easy target I think.

| So you are wrong yet again MD, and seemingly in parallel to yours...
I was making assumptions regarding the solo TS track suit turn up for the first time in my memory on another thread. Not because of Sims, He just put an extra gleam to the shiny one that stuck to the wall.

I reckon they also miss Chris Barron around training as well.

| To be honest, I'm getting a bit tired of all the mud that's being slung in Agar's direction as if getting shut of him tomorrow would be the panacea for all our ills.
I would [ilove[/i to air a few grievances in the direction of some of the senior players at the club, and the gist of it would be stop looking for and making excuses, stop shifting blame, stop ducking your responsibilities and start bending your backs and performing.
Atkins, Joel, Bridge, Myler, Ratchford & Westwood amongst others all need to take a good long hard look at their performances and attitude before looking anywhere else for blame. Asotasi - I'm not even going there.
I've worked for some great bosses, good bosses and lousy bosses down the years but I've always believed that my performance is my responsibility alone, and looking for scapegoats and excuses is weak and delusional.

Spot on morrisey, rumour has it that's not been the only meeting called,, England and Simms called one just before england went for his tribunal to apologise, for Huddersfield incident ,, but also layed it out to rest of squad, that there is no bottle or desire and willing to die for attitude, after a good season last year which was supposed to be the transision,, TS was shocked by outburst,, since then Simms has proper upping his game, and be interesting to see how England is received on return from ban,,, but whatever is going on the lack of leaders on and off the pitch is showing,, Joel needs to be stronger captain,, it's not a happy camp for sure!!, and this sat Leigh game will be make or break for a few players careers,,

| I don't think the Leigh game is the pivotal one, we ought to win that at a canter.
Wire v Wigan is where the team needs to show up, and every game following.
It doesn't matter to me if we go into the middle 8s, it's our level anyhow this season.
What matters to me is when I see my team lose, they lose like Saints at Cas. Then there are no complaints from me.
Loose fighting not throwing in the towel.

| Joel, for all his talent on the field (although perhaps in shorter supply this season) is not a captain.
...and I still don't rate Agar.

he got the captains nod this year, based on teh perception,(most peoples) that he was doing a great unnofficial job last year, looking back, i think it was more of a case of him doing what came natural and supporting his brother in the role.
I don't rate Agar either, based upon his record and general trail of failure left behind him.

but you know that's just an inflated title because Tony smith is called head of coaching which encompasses the entire Warrington wolves set up.
You know Tony Smith is the head coach, you know Richard Agar is an assistant to Tony smith in Coaching the Warrington Wolves first team. You know Mickey Higham didn't go to Richard Agar and say look gaffer I've been offered this deal at leigh.....you know Agar didn't slap a transfer fee on higham and tell him he could go now, and you know Agar didn't decide to go and get Brad Dwyer back and offer him an improved contract. and you know Agar isn't deciding right now who he should sign to solve our half back crisis.

I do know that Agar runs the training sessions, Agar is the one on the pitch in the pre-match warm up, Agar is pitchside during games, Agar is doing more and more TV interviews for us, Marshall and Poching did none.
Agar is our First Team Coach. He coaches the first team.

yet if Brian smith Takes Wakefield down losing every game he'll still have his record intact as a super coach.
I sound like I'm a fan of Agar now, but we were on the slide before he came he's just unlucky in my opinion. had he come to us a couple of years earlier he wouldn't have kopped an ounce of flak...
look at some of the assistants out there currently, Sean long got sacked from Wigan because: "he has found it difficult as a new staff member to integrate into the disciplined and already high-performing culture at the Wigan club" read into that what you will. but I bet Saints fans love him. Bobbie Goulding will land at Salford at some stage if the Dr keeps a promise! let that sink in.....Bobbing Goulding .....!! but again some Salford fans are over the moon..
We had James Lowes as an assistant and then in charge and we could see what a back side he was in all his glory.
When Agar was at Hull and wakefield I thought he carried himself very well in interviews spoke well about the reasons why they lost, and never once made me think what an a hole this bloke is.
I think he's quite clever in building his career back up after two difficult jobs...and Wakefield and Hull were and always are difficult jobs.... unless we all think Brian Smith and Lee Radford are going to be strutting out at old Trafford anytime soon...?
if players are so precious about which bloke is stood out on the training paddock and have had a meeting to demand Tony Smith track suits up and holds their hand then its no wonder we have soft underbelly and are being bullied by Eorl Crabtree and the likes....

Bubble was great, i had the pleasure of befriending him on the book of face for a while a few years ago, the bloke was funny, fat little that he was,
He's the person i miss on Matchdays, Mr Draper, if you're reading this, bring him back.

Absolutely not you don't seem to have understood my posts on this. ...agar has a decent record as an assistant. ...grand finals and challenge cups etc... His record as head coach is not good...its like Brian kidd in football...great assistant manager....its easy to grasp. ...
Tony Smith is the only proven winning coach we've employed since I've been watching wires. ....guess what ....its been a successful formula
.if smith leaves we should employ a similar "winning" coach... like a Hasler Bennett Bellamy.
or
a mcdermot or wane .

its not been all roses with Monas... he was one po faced miserable error prone player in his early days but he was given time....
how many times did you freak out at his scrum half play when he lost us possession and put his hand up to apologise time after time....
to quote a description of Alan Hansen. His hand was up so many times they called him the vet....
If Morley Briers Hodgson Solomona and Monas were still here Agar would be putting out cones and slicing oranges at training....as I suspect Marshall and poaching did.
unfortunately they've all gone ...Like I said Agar is just plain unlucky.....
