FWIW I thought that Gerry Helme was born in Leigh maybe border country BWW? Bob Eccles is down on wiki as St Helens but agree with a previous posters Culcheth connection

Tbh... UR. The thread has opened my eyes to just how disappointing it is for RL in our town, struggling to find 13 half decent players never mind 17 having to go back decades!

You could have John Thursfield at #9 .....for both Warrington born & worst team

As it is atm... almost everyone on the best will be in the worst!

Andy Bennett (stocky hooker) and Neil Kenyon (winger); both in the early 90s off the top of my head

I would say it’s only Warrington ‘BORN’ which means other team’s players can count but not the likes of Watkins who only played here as a youngster.

I left it a bit open ended...only if we struggled to find those who are a Wire and born a Warringtonian....my only fear is if we try and claim Jon Wilkin!

We're not really going for other clubs...only if desperate...which we nearly are.

Laurie Gilfedder, was originally a centre, & later a regular back rower for Great Britain.

The Briggs brothers, Wilf who was a halfback & centre, & Barry was a back rower.

Brindle was a prop from the 60s/early 70s & he still struts his stuff round the fleshpots of Burtonwood.
I think Dick Gemmell who played for Leeds in the 60s/70s was from Warrington but don't know if he ever played for us.
I believe Catterall got a sine die ban for an incident in an amateur game.

If you think a player is better than the one currently in his position, then replace that player and put him as a reserve.
