There's no way Lineham can be signing for Wire if its on Twitter.

Maybe Lineham is just trying to get himself a new and improved deal? It would seem a strange move from Hull FC to sell one of their better players to a rival when they aren't in need of money. How would they go about selling season tickets if that happened?

Without the direction we need from 6,7 and 9 it makes no difference who's out wide. Not really interested whether we are signing Lineham or not personally. Good player but not what we need.

So who would you play on the wing next year when Joel is at Catalans?

Rhys Evans, Gene, KP, Matt Russell, Jack Johnston all could do the job out wide. Not a position we need to recruit for imo.

We always seem to have had great finishers on the right wing in recent years - Joel, Hicks, Fa'afili, Smyth.

Not one of the above are as good as or better than Lineham.

I was thinking about this the other day. The first 3 in particualr have unbelieveable records. Between them its something like 270+ tries in around 300 games.

I know Smyth didn't have the same record, but he WAS a good finisher.

Your entitled to your opinion, I don't share it. Don't get all this love for Lineham all of a sudden. Big lump, decent finisher, hope he stays at the KC.

Doesn't have the X factor (Like Briscoe for example)

He is a good winger, but I doubt he will ever make a top winger, surprised you are playing a big fee for him, I hope we use the money wisely.

So out of the ones you've mentioned, which of them is a better out and out winger than Lineham? None of them are.
It's already a done deal.

Whether any of them are, or whether any of them aren't isn't surely the issue on the basis that we need to prioritise? We obviously can't sign 'somebody better' in every position so is this potential signing a priority?

Not for me, we have enough cover/potential of our own and a significant fee would be spent better elsewhere

I like Lineman great winder with the potential to be an international. But I agree with MK Cat, that we have a priority position to fill which us one of the halves.
Not sure who is available or would want to come to Wire, but this is where my money would be spent if we could find someone.

Totally agree, a quality half should be our priority. No point in signing 'world beaters' out wide without the right service for them.

Not as good as the others but still not too bad.

On t'other side, Chris Riley is ok - 119 from 182.

You know what, if a player does not want to play for a club and says so then fair do's. He would not get picked by me even if the replacement had half the talent that player does. We have kids who would run through brick walls for that jersey and doesnt matter how good that "dont wanna play for wire" is, id drop him from a player who would give 110%. I love micky higham but if his head isnt in it, then im sorry but id chop you too.

This wire team has to move forward and not backwards, rumours are rumours but they must appear from somewhere and usually i dont give into them. But this time im not sure.
