I was thinking of getting a few mates from down here to come along - apart from the fact it'll be difficult to get a ticket - fancy a day on the lash in Widnes will be a hard sell to be honest!icon_smile.gif

In 20 years we've gone from Maine Road to Widnes. I agree in 2004 we were outsiders - I think there will be more takers this time. But to be fair to the RFL they are trying to reward councils etc that have backed RL and also Premier League grounds are difficult to get hold of - especially the week before the start of the season. So the other option would be Huddersfield and then people will complain about having to travel 'far'. So no easy option I guess.

I have 4 friends who never go to the rugby and asked if I can get them tickets, I do hope the venue can accommodate.

i know the football seaso is starting around the same time but the rfl could go for somewhere like deepdale, preston. this holds 22,000 and i reckon each team could get 10,000 supporters each, its a semi final and a derby so they arent going to struggle to sell tickets

why don't we follow the lead of football and have both Semis at Wembley

13,500 is more than enough, only a few will come out of the woodwork for the Semi the rest will appear for the final [size=59if we get there[/size.

The only way they will sell tickets is to make the venue to be as accessible to all fans and thats a ground with good road links and good car parking and also good Rail links to the ground and Widnes falls short on both of these

Widnes will do fine. As it will just about suit the crowd. Can't see more than 12000. It depends on the form of both teams running up to it as well.

I know it will probably end up being at Leigh or Widnes, but neither are really inspiring venues for a semi final. Still, if all goes to plan Wembley should make up for that.

Would 9.000 per club not make a total of 36,000 the Reebok is not that big and they cannot be played on separate days there as the stadium is booked for a Testimonial on the 8th

Testimonial is to be played at 11am with an expected attendance of 1000 people meaning little to no work for stewards and staff, the saturday kick off is 6pm giving sufficient time for changing rooms to be turned round and lines to be painted on. meaning 2 games with 9000 each is 18000, plus 10000 extra if required = 28,000. thanks for dropping by

Surely the game can't be held at the Stobart Stadium. It wouldn't be fair on us with it not being a neutral stadium.
