| Widnes. Would instantly be the best player there. Cullen already there.

| The only way anyone would touch him in Super League would be pay as you play but thats a lot of messing for the salary cap.
Might end up at somewhere like Dewsbury or Wrexham

| Quote ="lefty goldblatt"This would be a 'massive punt' imo, MKC.
This fella is now SERIOUSLY USED GOODS. Whilst having undoubted talent, ANY club would be taking a massive risk on him, with his 'issues'. Salary cap limitations will see to this...he wont come cheap, and he may well "blow-up" again.
Sad to say, but he's an accident waiting to happen'"
Wonder if Cull will resist the temptation Lefty? His old mate, a once top quality player who would command a hugely reduced contract from his Warrington/Wigan days. Month to month deal perhaps or more probably Widnes will continue to look at players who have a proven track record without the kindergarten mentality.

| A sed up Gleeson would do a better job at centre than what they planned cuurently.
Ben Kavanagh
Paddy Flynn
Steve Pickersgil
Ben Cross
Hep Cahill
Shaun Briscoe
Macgraff Leuluai
Dave Allen
Thomas Coyle
Kurt Haggerty
Tom Gilmore
Jack Owens
Danny Craven
Patrick Ah Van
Ben Davies
Chris Dean
Lloyd White
Frank Winterstein
Willie Isa
Although, I bet Ben Cross could do a brilliant job there if needed.

| I can just see it now:
"This is nothing less than a sensational capture. This is a clear signal that we want to break into the top eight as a legitimate force. Martin Gleeson is still a real threat the world over and is one of the few players the Australian national team fear in terms of dynamic backs from these shores. We aim to provide him with the neccessary structure at Widnes to allow him to achieve his objective of getting back in to the England squad for the upcoming World Cup tournament." Cullen also refused to rule out signing Michael Wainwright, Henry Fa'afili and Warren Stevens.

Yes because Gleeson helped them to become Super League champions.
This year since Gleeson left, Wigan have not looked like the same force they were a year ago.

There's only 2 people in this world who'd stick up for Martin Gleeson as much as you do, one is his mother and the other...
You are Sean Long and I claim my £5

| You know if he was open and honest and written a book about his highs and lows in and out of Rugby League it would be a fantastic Read and then perhaps peoples judgement of his character and of him as a person would perhaps change overall..

| I think any club at any level is taking on more that its worth in signing him, but i do think he'll have a few clubs ringing and having a chat, Widnes, Salford(though Parish may wanna steer clear of this type of signing), Wakey, maybe Quins would all at least have a chat i would assume

| I really hope im wrong but i think we may have another terry newton on our hands, if hes not at the end of his career now his days are surely numbered and to say he's not cut out to survive outside the game is an understatement
Before anyone slates me for disrespecting Newton I wasnt comparing how the two of them lived their lives or who they are/were as people just that they may well share the same tragic end

| As usual the forum is full of speculation about the state of someone's health from people that know nothing.
Just like a few weeks ago Morley would never play again because his vision was permanently damaged.

| I can't help thinking that the Martin Gleeson story is going to have a very sad ending indeed. He's clearly got a lot of issues (not just of What Car magazine) and I hope he sorts them out. He was a good player for us, the fact that he subsequently played for Wigan doesn't diminish that in my eyes.
Good luck for the future Martin.

I don't think our chosen one is the type to revisit previous players, especially ones with Gleeson's history
Widnes, Salford or the job centre are Gleeson's options (imo) for the immediate future

Well a year after TS arrived at Huddersfield, Gleeson had improved enough that he got a contract from St Helens and he won a Super League Grand Final.
When TS arrived at Warrington the effect was even more quick, within a couple of months he had improved enough that he got a contract from Wigan and he won another Super League Grand Final.
