| Luck.....!
That is his excuse?!
Mr Smith....there is no such thing as luck!
Luck is nothing more than opportunity vs preparedness.
Wigan had opportunity and Warrington were not prepared. That is the answer TS should have given. At least it would be honest and not hiding behind a word to avoid saying attitude.
To coin a phase....you must make your own luck!

| The man is an egotistical nightmare based on bluff and the so-called shaved chimp doesnt even have to put any effort into out-coaching him now....worse he actually pities him and takes his foot off. People laughed at wigan when wane took over...the brutish, piggish thug against our generously probosicsed genius....even wigan fans worried. Fear not, one knows a lot more about man management, rugby league and the basic principles of hard work and playing players in their correct positions....the other is a chancer with a Sigmund freud handbook (given to him by his wife). Ps i hear he's lost half the dressing room....which was clearly obvious.

| Being beaten on the edges 3-4 times and having S O'L running through the heart of your defence has nothing to do with bad luck.
His post match comments are becoming offensive to the fans who pay to go and watch the team
It also makes you question if he knows whats going on?!?

| He doesn't. Its about time people woke up. He's had his hands on two teams ripe for silverware for a cumulative 12 years...in which time he's pocketed 2 gf and 3 cc. Compare that ratio to wane or to st helens as a club whilst they've been on a downward curve??!! He's not very good...he's not very good AT ALL. Looking at his 'mates' might give you a clue

| My biggest worry at half time was that like so many times in 2014, there would be a mini fight back which ultimately ends in via but clouds the fact that something is seriously wrong.
It's sad to see it end like this, but he has to go. Contrary to what has been the consensus since 2009, Smith isn't the messiah, Wayne Bennett, Alex Ferguson or any other daft comparison. There is life after Tony Smith, but the club has to be proactive and go looking for it.

| At what point will "luck" run out for Mr Smith?
How much opportunity do will allow him?....seriously.
We can all say "sack him now"....
How long do allow to TS before we have to take action?
Or do we allow him to keep control in the bottom 8s to fight our way out to safety?

| A bit difficult to call a margin of 22 points "luck". Wigan were given the chance to play some great, entertaining rugby & thoroughly deserved the win, even the new recruits fitted in seamlessly & it was a bit much to watch a second rower,Farrell ,make a 60 yard break.

| I think some of the reactions are a bit hasty. The team we wanted to start the season with hasn't been seen on the pitch yet this season. I prefer to Judge when we've seen Gidley and Brown together in the halves, a prop/hooker rotation of Hill, Sims, Clark & Cooper, Crosby, Dwyer. These to factors are massive in ashaping a game of rugby. It was only a few months ago we were in a grand final and the squad has only been strengthened. We lost to Cas and Wigan last year and Catalan are a tough ask away from home. the Salford game was disappointing but we have a few silly results each year. We all just need to stay calm and let it play out. It's a long season.

It isn't a long season though is it? We now have 19 games left and need to win 10 of those to avoid middle8s based on last season. Can you see that happening? Every club gets injuries and Smith will never has his first team out possibly. By the time he does (which won't happen) it will be too late.

Injuries are certainly not exclusive to Warrington. As Shaun Wane said, he wrote down his first choice 17 last year and never actually got to see it. That's sport! When you are aiming to win the thing, you should be able to cope with having players out.
Regardless, I'm struggling to see who would have come in and changed things last night.

| So hanging Dec Patton out to dry in the post-match is good man management
'He was dropped. He's done OK but we need better than OK'
Yes Patton may not be the answer, may not have the quality needed, and may be struggling. However he's been no better or worse than lots around him, with lots more experience.
Could easily have said 'We gave Dec a break, or we wanted to try something different' but no
The major factor in this debacle is staring you in the mirror Mr Smith, and is alongside you on the training pitch in Agar

| waiting for Tony's best 17 to actually take the field is a bad judgement........too many eggs in one basket... Rugby league is one of the hardest and most physical sports played, there will always be injuries7and great coaches know this and have a squad of decent players outside the top 17 to call upon. It's not your best 17 that matter it's the next 6-7 players that will replace them what is important as Wigan found out last year. We never had the top 17 take the field once last year and over the 36 games played they appeared only 383 times out of a total of 612 times. That's over 6 of the starting 17 missing every game, If Tony is waiting for his "Luck" to change he could be waiting for a very long time.

Wishful thinking, sadly. Just like with Briers, there is clearly no succession planning in place. My biggest fear is the inevitable disaster that is Briers taking over.

MD "rules" "no one is allowed to say these things"? There is plenty of stuff debated on here and I wasn't aware that opinion was being stifled by "rules". I think that it's a fairly open arena people are allowed to disagree no one has been shouted down as far as I can see

| While you've started the season poorly, some of the abuse Smith is coming in for is well over the top.
Calling him a 'cretin', plus other insulting stuff, sums up just how classless Dire fans really are.
You're not a Big Club, but look at the success TS has brought to Warrington over the last 8 years. You were nowhere near this before he took over, last winning anything way back in 1991 (the hugely 'prestigious' Regal Trophy).
You may not rate him as a coach anymore, but some of the stuff being dished out to him is bang out of order.
