| Didn't help with Silverdud letting players constantly stand in front of him, at EVERY play the ball.
I was sick to the back teeth of him, with his whistle in his gob, every set of six.
I know players are responsible for their actions, but the officials need to nip constant infringements in the bud...
Oh, and fair play to that touch-judge coming on the field, and actually having an input into the game. Normally, all they're good for, is when a ball's gone into touch, or adjudicating on a goal kick.

| The thing that got me about Silverwood today was occasions when (both teams, to be fair) players were clearly offside, as in outrageously so, the relevant set of fans went ape and all he did was make more and make elaborate gestures to the defence to get back on side - you're not there to coach, you're there to apply the rules FFS.

| Players not being onside and hull kr not being penalised for lying on certainly frustrated us and led to us not being at our best. But we won by 32 points and scored some great tries.

| Richard Silverwood's policing of the ruck has always been poor and I cannot see why he is classed as a top referee. He seems to like the sort of game where the ptb is slow which will always disadvantage any team who want to play at pace.

| This seems to have been the case in quite a few games this year. I hope it's not something that the refs have been told to allow.

Talking about SL in general, not our performances.
We didn't help ourselves at times today but generally the game was very slow and frustrating today maybe. In my opinion anyway.

| The problem with teams looking offside is because refs are not consistent with how they line teams up. Some will stand the 10m back from the play the ball others will stand 12m back and walk up as the ball is being played, which makes it frustrating for fans as they think teams are offside because they are in front of the ref, who is actually 12m back.

| Who is in charge of policing the offside anyway? Liner or ref?
More the ruck speed than offsides today but both mixed together and we didn't get through many sets without el whistleo blowing up

| Slowest game I have witnessed. I have seen faster, clearer rucks at 2nd division, regional RU.
I am getting the feeling Silverwood revels in the pantomine villain role.

| I am becoming a miserable old man, but I thought the game today was dreadful and Warrington played the sort of rugby that makes me want to go back to five drives and a kick. We have no self-awareness, respect for possession (or the opposition) and play the game in exactly the opposite manner to which you'd coach kids to play. Playing with ludicrous offloads in your own 20 and on the second tackle, as if the clock is permanently stuck on 79:59 is not my idea of rugby.
After being on the back foot for three sets on your own line, you need to just respect possession and to complete a set, but those basics appear not to enter our head. Our completion rate is criminal and I don't need to wait for the OPTA stats to know that our error rate is the highest in Super League. It's utterly brainless and we won't get away with it against anyone remotely good.
Apart from that, I thought we were okay and will p1ss the league unbeaten.
It makes me sick.

No way was the game 'dreadful'.
We scored some great tries, our defence was good and at times very good.
We made some mistakes and occasionally went for offloads or passes that weren't on or necessary.
Rovers tried really hard and gave us a good game.
Not in any way was the game 'dreadful'.

DELIBERATELY OBTUSE, only you will know
Yes, we frittered away possession too easily (at times), trying to be the RL equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters, and I'm just as critical as you, re this (at one stage, I had a Stains Friday night collapse in my mind), BUT, we've put 42 points on someone, and I'm sure we wont 'fling it about with gay abandon', against any of the big oppostion, when the time comes.

| I'm happy for the game to be "boring" if we win every game by 32 points!
As it goes, I enjoyed the game today, albeit with some sloppy play in the first half.

| I thought today's game wasn't brilliant, mainly to the fact we played nowhere near as well as we can. However 99% of the time we play some of the best rugby in the league and I can't argue with winning so I enjoyed the result and the tries we scored.

| I'm happy to see the players try to go for the moves, throw the ball around, etc, but I do get annoyed when we do it after having soaked up a ton of pressure on our line, to then knock on 30 yards out from our line and have to soak up even more pressure again.
I'm 80% sure I remember Tony Smith, around this point of last season, making a statement in an interview that "We're still learning when we should be throwing those balls or when to just keep hold of it", maybe that same learning curve applies again?
(I'm certain he said it, I just can't remember exactly when!)

| People may be getting the wrong end of the stick here. I am not being critical of us winning today or even our performance doing so. it was the nature of the game that was frustrating. The game has changed this year quite clearly, and is more a ground wrestle_athon, than free flowing rugby. I don't like it personally.

| At times the game did become a little flat but i dont understand all these people going mad about our "daft offloads" people who watch Warrington know the way we play and we have our own unique style, when we did the offloads that i think people are referring to, trent waterhouse and westwood in the 2nd half there was no way we were going to lose the game, and if they had come off which they very nearly did then we would have been talking about yet more brilliant tries. Sometimes they come off sometimes they dont and the odd time that they dont im happy to clap and see that it was a brilliant idea and that is the way we should be playing! when we do it on our own 20m line against saints with a 2 point lead and 5 minutes to go then you can all have your moan..

| That old saying "live by the sword, die by the sword". We weren't moaning last year when this style of RL scored us over 1000 points and put us top. We are on to do the same thing again this year already.
Ruck speed is rediculously slow. Teams know they have to do this against us or they will get cut to ribbons in minutes. It was just painful at times how KR got away with it for so long.

| I didn't see or hear this game so won't comment on it exactly but there was one advantage of the opposition slowing us down, it was there to see v London, our superior fitness levels.
What they end up doing is conserving our energy and then get battered in the final quarter.
Last season we seemed to blow teams off the park from the off and would tail of towards the end, seems to have gone the other way this season.

| i read in the programme yesterday that smith was looking to play a slower rugby this year? this mite have a ittle something but to slow it down that much has got to be down to kr players holding down and the ref not picking up on it.
perhaps silverwood slows the play down so that he can keep up with the play?

Yes, but we were only 8 points in front at that stage, had very little posession in the HKR half, and were under the cosh. Sensible play would have been to make steady progress upfield and end with a kick to turn the game around again.
