What? Your facts are somewhat off. Graham wanted to play last week but Simmons didn't think he was quite ready and didnt want to risk him, he IS fit to play this week. Wellens had a scan this week and as he's in the 19 man suad you would presume the scan came back all clear. I think there is still a doubt over Wellens will make it but a late fitness test will determine whether he will play.

Don't kid yourself into thinking it has anything to do with any 'record'. If they weren't fit to play, Simmons would not play them, he's made that quite clear. It doesn't matter whether we were playing you or a weaker team, the decision would be the same.

Wello has damage to a nerve across his ribs which causes him extreme pain on contact. Surgery isn't required but an injection could be useful. However, Simmons has made it clear that Wello is a maybe, not a definite. He included Wello in the 19 last week too but Wello didn't play. Jammer, however, is good to go so he will be playing. Thankfully, given that our replacement prop is now injured!

or maybe they are fit.... and last week they weren't.

You've got a great chance this time IMO:

1 - The Keiron Cunningham factor - He would simply not let you beat us. It could have been him and the academy and he'd have sneaked over to win it in the 83rd minute. He's no longer playing.

2 - It is not at Knowsley Road - Anyone who has played sport will know there are fields/stadiums/pitches you just don't feel comfortable in and don't look forward to playing on. The 'fortress' is in the process of being knocked down and the game is at Widnes. I don't know how many neutral games there have been during the 'run' but I'd guess at not many.

3 - The burden of expectation isn't there - This time there won't be 8,000 Warrington fans marching to the game insisting they will win comfortably. The players and staff are also not crowing as much as they usually are. In a typical Saints v Wire game during the 'run' we've had injuries and you have been bang on form. Particularly recently you've gone into games wondering if it's even possible that you could lose. The players also feel this as well and it hasn't helped them IMO. This again is not a factor this time. The defeat to Huddersfield and the few injuries were a reality check for a few at Warrington no doubt (Particularly the younger players who haven't got the experience).

4 - Leon Pryce isn't playing - With King Leon playing even I would throw the kitchen sink in with the swimming pool, the bike and the car in a bet that we would win. Without him Saints have the ability to look very lost and confused, like in the Grand Final last season. Paul Wellens is another who may miss the game. He's probably not a player you would worry about before a game, but he's still 110% reliable at the back and Briers would look forward to testing Foster or Lomax with kicks than Wellens who fails to deal with a kick about once a decade.

Another possible game-changing thing is the Kyle Eastmond situation. If he has made his decision and chosen Union, it is bound to affect things at Saints. It looks very unlikely but if he announced he was staying it would make the atmosphere electric. If on the other hand he announced he was joining Bath, the crowd at Saints would no doubt be really hard on him about it.

Silly statement of the day, i know numerous stains fans, and also reading on here, keeping the run means as much to you as losing it does to us, and why wouldn't it, its a great record to have.

I think a lot of Saints fans, myself included, exhaled once Keiron had stamped his foot in your face again and thanked the lord you'd failed to win at KR. Beating you at Widnes really isn't that much different to a normal game.

Sure extending the run is a mildly amusing diversion but it's not a big issue.

Sure, there are fans who like to inflate their ego over such matters. However, in terms of 'the run' being of more importance to the coach than risking his best players for the rest of the season, it means diddly squat.

Saints fans celebrating each victory against us as if they have just won the Grand Final would suggest otherwise!

Last time we did at KR he scored against. i can see a basic school boy error,ruining it for us. Made by one of the more experienced 1st team players.

Lets Remain boyd by the fact that it is only a couple of players thats a doubt for them,several seasons ago names like long,cunningham,scully and Jamie Lyon would of been on that list,all danger men in their own right even though we never admitted it.!!!

If Wellens doesn't make it and Briers brings his kicking game, it will be interesting to see how Foster (who i assume would play FB) will cope. Seems very sturdy player on the wing but how will he do covering the whole pitch

Last time out Jonny Lomax played fullback rather than Foster, though I prefer Foster myself as he is better positionally than Lomax. So either could be covering for Wello if he isn't playing. If Simmons goes with the same team as last week, then Foster will play on the wing, Meli as centre and Lomax covering FB. Gaskell was playing at 6. I hope he gets another run there as he is looking promising.

The last couple of years have been very amusing for us.
