| Why told you so? It has sold out but it has taken until two days before the final to do so. Hardly a mad panic. I also suspect it has only done so due to the recent upturn in Wigoons form.

| Anyone who wants to go but has missed out on a ticket has no-one to blame but themselves (yet somehow I suspect that some will still try to blame the RFL).

| We'd have been able to fill a ground twice the size anyway. Some people were just put off buying because of the sell out scare-mongering when the venue was announced.

| Great news!
I must say though I would have purchased more than my 4 tickets if I didnt have to buy tickets for the Bradford game to qualify. I know tickets have been avaliable up until recently but I needed to be able to sit all together.

Since you ask, no. I bought 4 tickets for the Bradford game and used only 2. Do you take my wider point that, maybe, other people would have bought more for friends and family if they could have sat together?

I agree to an extent, like in your case when you have little ones, but I;m sat with friends and some family are at other areas of the ground, not the end of the world not sitting with your mates.

| Wigan have sold 6000 I think. Our original allocation was bigger because the west stand is bigger than the east. It will be pretty even other than a few wire fans on the fringes of the wigan support.

The 'Prawn Sandwich Brigade' at a Rugby League match in Widnes??... ......I seriously doubt there will be any there, when you have the Community Shield, Championship footy starting its new season, and most significantly, an Ashes Test match being played at Headingley, all on the same weekend.....The only 'neutrals' at our semi will be some chavvy Widnes folk looking for a fight...

Your right in what you say however with hindsight you could have held off buying any tickets (and saved yourself the agony of the Bradford game) and purchased as many tickets as you'd like all sat together when they went on general release.
The problem was that with all the soothsayers forecasting a sell-out within hours you do understandly feel that you cannot risk leaving it until they go on general release just in case for once, depite all precedence suggesting otherwise, the game did sell out prior to general release of tickets.
Either way to sell out a couple of days prior to the game when tickets have been available for as number of weeks would suggest that the stadium capacity is just about right. There are not two better words to a marketing department then "sold-out" on a venues doors.
Did the club let you in on their plans for ticketing should be get to Wembley? An interesting departure from the norm, I wonder how it will work for those qualifying through season tickets etc before going on general release.

| This is taken from the Wigan E-news dated 30-07-09
With the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi final less than two weeks away a few tickets and hospitality places still remain.
The Warriors face Warrington Wolves at the Stobart Stadium in Widnes a week on Saturday (8th August) at 2.30pm with a place at Wembley in the Challenge Cup Final up for grabs.
The club have already sold almost 5,000 tickets for this game with a few South and West Stand tickets remaining.

You are dead right PY I should have waited with hindsight. I bought my tickets the day they became available as I feared a sell out and missing out which would have been abhorent. Having said that I would have liked to be in a stadium where all the wire support was together intstead of disjointed and spread across 4 sides as it will be on Saturday. Anyway the points still stand a) I personally would have taken more on Saturday than I am doing b) there is no room for walk-up support on the day which is a shame.
In reply to your last point, no further word from Dave Hutchinson.

| Not going to labour too much of a point, but if Gatcliffe says we could sold alot more then I have to agree with him. Nice to have a capacity crowd, however, it is a shame we don't have any walk up tickets left, the warrington fans are all divided and i couldn't bring new people to the game, but long as we win I don't care.

Of course you could have brought new people to the game, you've had 3 or more home games since the draw, you could have taken them to one of these to get them "into" it.
