Quote ="Smiffy27"I suppose we won't find out the thinking behind this. On the surface I am surprised we want to let him go and also that Leeds want him.
I'm hoping that we might yet add someone to our thin looking squad.
We have suddenly got a few injuries and we don't quite look the same team.'"
I would agree. It isn't immediately apparent what the thinking is behind this. Whilst we shouldn't be giving up any resource, especially at this stage of the season, the club must feel that we are better off without him. I have no 'inside information' but I could speculate that it is because;
We are freeing up salary cap space for a mid season signing
The club consider it fairer to the player himself / dressing room moral to release a player early who does not feature in our plans for the remainder of the season and beyond
There has been some other incident behind the scenes of which we are unaware
We have received a good offer from Leeds. We may have a reputation for being the big spenders of SL but that doesn't mean that our resources are limitless and we have already announced a big signing for next season.
