As I've said COUNTLESS times before, we don't know we're born with today's refs.

Yes, they are poor. Very poor, at times. But they can't get away with plain and utter bias. Unlike the days of Thompson, Kershaw, Smith, Lindop, Whitfield et al, who were just bent. These days, we get 70+ club games shown live each season, as well as highlights of the rest of the games, shown on two magazine programmes. Compare this with the days of the above "refs", when we barely had a handful of "full" live games per season, and no magazine programmes. Today's refs can't "get away" with the level of bias shown previously.

Silverwood is a prat. We all know that. He's an attention seeking "ladies pocket", who may have favourite teams. But is he in the same league as the vermin of the late 70's and 80's? NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS.

GOOD post I AGREE and so do many OTHERS. I also AGREED with Just Browny (and I appreciate that we are playing HKR not Saints) that SILVERWOOD does seem to FAVOUR Saints. These two principles aren't mutually EXCLUSIVE and surely the latter doesn't constitute an AGENDA?

Looking at some of the early posts on this thread, Rico, I'd dare say some posters do think there's an agenda against us.

Silverwood has "ref'd" several huge games involving us, that we've won.

Just to throw the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons, though. Does anyone remember the CC game between Stains and Hull (at Stains) about 8 years ago. Hull were well in front in the early stages of the second half, and looked very good for it, and the mic that Silverwood was wearing could be heard in general play (normally, you could only hear it for replays). "What's the current penalty count" he was heard to say, and lo and behold, he absolutely caned Hull with penalties, which saw Stains get back to back tries, and then take the momentum of the game. Why did he need to know what the penalty count was. Surely, a penalty is a penalty, regardless of who's had more.

We seem to be agreeing Lefty I don't think that Silverwood is anti Wire particularly, but, I do get the feeling that he is pro Saints and any victories against them where he is officiating are in spite of him.

You would hope that officials have a neutral impact on results whilst accepting that they may on occasion make a genuine mistake, you know the ones that even themselves up over a season, the rub of the green. As we aren't playing Saints this weekend let's hope we get it

The worst thing about the officials is you can bet Tony Smith has to take into consideration who is in charge when putting together our gameplan.

And he has said so in the past.
