I think it is good to see how the forwards have evolved over the last couple of seasons from players who just ran the ball in to the intelligent ball playing gang that we have now who are confident enough ,even the youngsters , to create space & put a team mate through a gap with a well timed pass.

They'll no doubt be claiming they brought him through because he with then when he was about 17.

I think he was highly rated at Wigan but they can't keep everybody. The work and foundations put in about 4 years ago really starting to pay off.

I still think we could improve on the left wing, but when you look at our main rivals left wingers they're much stronger than ours. Hall and Richards mainly.

Over the year players who have started their careers at Wigan, and lads that come from Wigan, have given us some tremendous service.

I think he was rated at Wigan, but they do seem to have access to a constant stream of high quality youngsters, so he was not a huge loss. We did however pay a transfer fee, which was fairly small, but designed to recompense Wigin for his time in their academy.
