how you recon this season is going to go mate?? few big games there the win over pilks the other week was good heard there gettin one of the 2nd rowers fit again he played a little spell on wed night?? big lad and there other one is injured i seen him on the crutches

yeah joe played his first game of the year on wednesday night after doing knee ligament damage, sam broke fractured his metatarsal against pilks but didnt realise it was as bad as it was, carried on training and playing and then it got worse and went into his ankle too i think,

as for this year, its going to be the hardest one yet for obvious reasons, but we can only really prove ourselves by going through the divisions and playing the best sides, we have got the quality to keep on going but more improtantly there seems to be a certain will and determination about all of us for wanting to do well

any side that should play us this year shouldnt underestimate a 'new' team and a team that has just been promoted

Sumners played a fair few more than 2 games. He's been at Irlam for around 3 years now and granted he can only play when he is home from duty he has racked up quite a few more appearances than 2.

Gutted for Irlam, sounds like they were hard done by near the end. They've got some superb lads down there and the most pleasing bit is that they are all young (i.e under 21, there best forward is only 1icon_cool.gif! If they can keep that team together and add to it over the years they will mature into a very, very good amatuer team.

which forward is that? i would say a couple of our older forwards are the best in the pack.

mate i think your getting sumner mixed upwith carter both men are in the marines carter has played 20 = games but sumner has defo only played 2 or 3 games only

I played last year mate and Sumner played at least 3 games alone then (maybe more). Both him and Jimmy are quality considering how long they've played RL.

i think wednesday was scotts first full 80mins in a rugby game, i could be wrong and like has been said considerin they have only played since comin down irlam i think they are quite good

Irlam Hornets started their division 5 campaign with a defeat at home to New Springs Lions today,

The final score was 24 - 20 and Irlam May only have themselves to blame for the defeat, they didnt play to potential in what was an error strewn game from both sides, Irlam made New Springs look a lot better than what they actually were, The big highlight for Irlam was stand off Brad Whites try after Kicking just past the 10 metres on kick off, retreiving and then going on to score towards the sticks causing missed tackles along the way

Irlam play their second fixture away to Bamber Bridge next weekend in what is going to be a very tough game

I went to the Eccles & SJ v East Leeds game yesterday and to be honest I was pretty impressed. It was an arm wrestle for much of the game with both teams showing some great rugby, however Eccles came strong late in the 2nd half to win 19-12.
