| At city at the moment they are trying to get fans to write in about there first ever game at city. As at the moment everyone loves the club, i was thinking we could do something on here. i guess i will start the ball rolling.
My first ever game was the semi final against wigan at Burnden park. As i been to watch Bolton the previous night and it rained for about 3 days. The weather was awful but the atmosphere was the best. didnt go to plan especially as i think it was Darren Bloor and Gibbo went for the same ball and it went straight to a wigan player. it seems from then i would always be hooked on Salford. cue other first game memories

| I'm that ancient, I can't remember which team it was against, but it was probably around 1967 or 1968, when I was 6 or 7 years old.

| Can't remember but it was early 70's and I'd have been about 5 years old. My earliest memories are seeing the programmes after the stand burnt down. The earliest game I can remember was the Premiership final against Sts at Station road. Had a few years off but first game back was semi against Wigan at Burnden.

| I'm somewhat of a latecomer to the game, having only been watching since 2006. Living in Chorlton/Stretford I never really got into League at a young age and had only heard of the likes of Offiah, Henry and Robbie Paul, etc.
Was in university and one of my housemates was a Bradford fan (despite coming from East Anglia) and he got me into it, along with pretty much everyone else in the house (Last year me and my former housemate who also had never watched league before uni even went to about 5 NRL games and an Origin game when travelling in Oz)
Was back home after the end of a term and suggested to my Dad, who lives in Salford, that we go down to The Willows. We were playing against Huddersfield and I think I remember it absolutely [ip[/iissing it down, along with thunder and lightning, and we absolutely took them apart. Loved it and we've been going ever since.

I remember that game too as it was my first season of going, although it wasnt my first game (I really cant remember who that was against). I remember it mainly because there was a bit of crowd trouble at it and as a kid I was scared to death. That is why I always feel bad when kids see similar things now.

| My first game was in about 1957/8.There was the big green tea hut at one end and a mound where the clubhouse is with a small scoreboard.Dont remember all the team, but there was a bloke called Jones with a bald head and I think Bryn Hartley and Frankie Dodd.

| Blimey I'be been going since I could walk, no idea which was my first one. The one that sticks out the most for can't remember who it was we were playing but I remember it was at night and we stood in the corner of the shed and north stand. and we were drawing. Then someone kicked a drop goal for salford and the ball seemed to be in the air for ages. I acn still see the light shining on the ball of the floodlights whist it was turning around in the air. I don't remember much about the game but that kick is still so vivid in my memory

| It was the 2nd March 1977. I don't remember anything about it as I was 10 days old. Mum couldn't wait any longer - was having withdrawl, especially after having missed Salford's last victory at headingley before this season a couple of weeks previously on the advice of the doctor. I'll ask her if she remembers who it was against.

JJ I am a little more ancient than you, although I don't look it at times but my first ever match at the Willows was in 1946 and I cannot remember who we played but I must have enjoyed what I saw as I have been going ever since.
Did you really miss last friday's match? Never mind I will give you all the details shortly.

1. yes Brian, I know you are an awful lot more ancient than me
2. yes Brian, I have been so bloody annoyed at this seasons (mostly) inept performances.... that I haven't been to many games, and it's broke my bloody heart. Combined with the fact that I missed the win @ Headingly, it's been one god awful year for me regarding Salford RLFC
p.s. my thanks to Ang for grassing me up about missing Friday , but all credit to her for telling me last Sundaay that we'd beat Saints

| Can't remember who it was against but it was possibly a cup match...went with my bro and dad and I remember thinking what a big guy Neil Baynes so what year that would be? I'm not sure. But after a lull my first game as a hooked/addicted reds fan was ..Wigan at home (1st time) during 2007 season. We lost but I knew I'd be back.

| My first game was when I was a babe in arms so I don't remember it. I have got some photo's of me with the team in 1976 when I was 2 and next to me is the Championship trophy. Still can't remember that but at least the photo's are nice to look at and dream about.

| Mine's a bit of strange journey to becoming a Salford Fan. Born and bred in Atherton from a long line of BWFC fans. Went to Leigh Grammar and was introduced by the 'locals' to Leigh v Whitehaven in 1967.
Moved to Wigan in 78 and went with some work mates to Central Park, I then supported Wigan regularly, but over the years got increasingly disallusioned and never went to the JJB.
Started working in Salford in 1997 and already knew Steve McCormack and John Blackburn at the club. My first game was against London Broncos and I think they scored about 50 points against us........but I knew I'd found a new home. I later took my younger daughter against Dewsbury in NL1. She LOVED it!!!!
I've been turning up regularly ever since through thin and thick. My brother is still a Wigan season ticket holder, but I'm proud to call myself a RED...............but as far as football is concerned I'm still White!!!

| Similer to Rooted Red, I`d been round the house`s a bit before landing at the Willows 20 odd years ago my route included Wire , Trafford Borough and occasional trips to Chorley and Swinton.
My first game watching Salford was Workington away in the 70`s
My son has been attending games on a regular basis for the last 2 seasons .His 1st game was a reserve/ academy friendly v Halifax in 2002.
