I had the Salford taxi driver - All the way to the match he talked of Salford from the 70's right the way through to the modern era. His knowledge was excellent and he didn't spout once how we used to play on a Friday night in the 80's and 90's or the 10's of thousands who turned up to watch in the 70's! He even knew of, and went to the Bramley Challenge cup game we played away in the early 80's! I was shocked of his excellent knowledge as we all know the Salford taxi driver story "I used to go when they were good" bull.
He stated that him and many of his friends and family had stopped going when we moved to Barton. He gave many plausible reasons that you just could not argue with.
Just an update: within two minutes last night, we'd had "you're going to win f**k all" and "where were you when you were sh*t?" There was also "what a waste of money" heard at one point, too. Well done, Saints fans.
