Plus only 2 and half weeks until Yorkshire day and the start of the real cricket with test squad captained by Yorkshire's Joe Root.

Cricket has reinvented itself to meet the requirements of the modern world. I went to an Indian Premier league game last year and it was fantastic. Interesting spectacle, full of families enjoying themselves. Next year England is introducing the 100 ball game with 10 balls in the last over. The Aussies have the big bash.........

We should be looking at these sports not knocking them.

It was one of the most dramatic things I've ever seen on a sporting field. Swinging one way then another you'll never see another match quite like that again.

You couldn't write script at a World Cup final having two final ball finishes in the same game with everything still up for grabs both times.

I think England were a touch fortunate but when he margins are so fine a bit of luck can swing it either way.

Cycling and the Tour de France stuff is the worst most boring sport

TBH as great as the final several overs were I think the majority of the game wasn’t great. You want a good balance between bat and ball but I think the pitch favoured bowlers a little bit too much especially for a showpiece final. If you had the same game but without England involved (thus a team we were rooting for) would you have enjoyed most of the opening 90 overs of the day?

Have you ever been to the velodrome for an event? Amazing spectacle. Give it a try one day.

Cricket on free to air TV is wonderful. You dont have to watch every minute or every ball, it's like background music to an English summer. It's great live, it's great on TV and it's great on radio. Not as good as live RL but still great.

It’s the perfect sport for having the numerous different commentators throughout the game and for crowd shots because of the gaps in play.....tv people need to realise though that these don’t apply or work to every sport particularly RL.

The RFL har now in talks with channel 4 and BBC to take the championship and league 1 let’s hope one of them do

It was a great move by the big noises in Cricket and at Sky to agree to show the final on FTA TV, very, very clever work for all parties.
Additional exposure for Sky Cricket, additional advertising revenue, opening up a superb spectacle to the world and increasing interest in Cricket as a sport.
As I say, a very shrewd move indeed.
