Which bit is a lie? , that the Celtic Crusaders players filled in VISA applications themselves? , as it was the players who were deported, it surely was they that filled in the forms

| Back to the op, maybe it is a new marketing plan by chairmen? Having seen how fans chucked money at the bulls hkr and cas seem to be using the same scare tactics to sell season tickets.

I think you could be right. HKR have just released this:-
cdn.hullkr.co.uk/uploads/documents/WeAreHKR.pdf
My guess is Cas Tigers will be something similar.

| Do you think maybe the tweaking of the salary cap is at fault for allowing egos and dreams take over from financial ability? To allow a 1.6m spend regardless of income? The HKR chairman moaned about losing 0.5m a year and said it was unsustainable but spent 1.6m on players. Duh! Spend 1.1m then. Don't we just have to make the cap more relevant to income again and more emphasis on solvency? It rewards clubs who achieve financial success and stops money being thrown at clubs.
Ferres at Cas is probably just throwing in some realism after the years of fantasy spun by Richard Wright, who was perhaps just running a marketing campaign aimed at licensing. He is doing the "we're in it together" line with the fans, and I hope it works. Cas are a great club in a hotbed area. And it guarantees us a few points each year.

Club directors should be responsible enough to make sure they run their clubs to break even.
It's nothing to do with the Salary Cap. The Salary Cap should be scrapped.
Instead, have a rule that going into Administration = 6 points deduction. Go bust = relegation to the bottom league.
Then, one-up, one-down automatic promotion and relegation between the leagues.
If anything it's the nonsense of licensing that might make directors feel they have to spend too much leading to losses.
We don't need Red Hall to do central planning.
Just put the above structure in place and let the Clubs get on with it.

That the crusaders were to blame for the visa issues their players had and the RFL were complicit in that and in covering up their guilt.
Though as we already know, the UKBA felt differently.

| Given that we're now in the close season, administration might be a rather dodgy path for Cas' (or any club, for that matter) to follow. It's worth pondering what would have happened to Bradford if they'd exploded now, instead of in the summer.

No it isn't. Get your facts straight pal - especially before being rude to contributors to this forum.
Under the Insolvency Act, an external Administrator can be appointed with a view to taking control of a company for a temporary period of time - with a view to sorting out it's finances, & with an initial objective of ultimately returning control to the directors of the company.
Going 'bust' i.e. Liquidation, is where there is no hope for the company and so it is wound up and its assets sold off to somebody else.

Licensing, without the fear of relegation, gives all clubs the chance to build at their own pace and should mean that clubs dont need to stretch themselves to breaking point.
However, the reality has proved somewhat differend and for various reasons.
If, as a sport, we are serious about preventing clubs being wreckless then, maybe, there should be some financial "guidance" by the governing body and certainly a more serious deterent for financial failings should be top of the list, applicable to ALL clubs, regardless of their perceived status within the game.

| One thing I will say about HKR is they are not actually losing 500k a year as that money is being covered by its backers. If they wanted to break even they could slash the playing budget but the backers have agreed to keep dipping into their pockets to put out a competitve team (well most years!). Ideally we would be break even without their donations and hopefully the new stand and some new initiatives will see us head that way before the backers run out of money!

So a ' Charity ' then
So have HKRs owners ' written off ' the money they have supported the club with , or is it in the form of a directors loan ? , there is a difference , I am sure the American financial institutions expect their money back , with interest
