Myler is not good enough. He's not the first Myler to have an inflated reputation eithre.
Ryan Fall (over the line) is not good enough. Or fast enough. He just happens to play outside an outstanding centre.
Same goes for Aidy Gardner.
McGuire only plays well when he's with Rob Burrow. He's shiit when he's with anyone else - but I wouldn't pick Burrow ahead of either Sam Tomkins or Eastmond, so he's out.
Pryce is too old. Same with Peacock - but he's injured anyway so it doesn't matter.
Widdop is untested. A good first half against France and the fact he plays in Australia doesnt make him an instant selection. Put him on the bench and see how he goes.
If mcguire only plays well with burrow, how has he been leeds' best player this year in a season where burrow has been mostly injured?
If picking the side on form ( which everyon says we should) mcguire should be 6!
James Graham needs to keep his dummy in and remember he's a prop, not a stand off. Drive the ball in and tackle. That is all.'"

Not as much as I'd like to live, with it being a 450 mile round trip, no.
Although I doubt either of us travel to watch Leeds in games not involving our team, so I've probably seen as much of McGuire as you have (or more judging by the fact you seem to think his good season is based on playing alongside Rob Burrow).

| Need half backs with Flair
so Eastmond and Tomkins for me
Need a FB with pace who will take the line on, that leaves Widdop
Gleeson and Shenton in centres, Bridge on bench
Briscoe and Atkins on the wings
Morley, Graham, Crabtree props
Roby at 9, but with creativity at Halves not 100%, maybe a great defender with a bit of a nasty streak is needed
Burgess, Ellis, OLoughlin, Tomkins back 3, westwood harrison on bench

There's not many 21 year olds who had reached their potential at that age. I'm willing to give him a couple of years before we dump him on the scrapheap.

Agreed about Gardner. Although he's improved his all round game over the years I have never rated him as an out and out winger. I disagree on Hall. I think he's a the best we have, strong, reliable and unless I'm totally mistaken I thought he at least had some wheels on him.
Quote ="ROBINSON" McGuire only plays well when he's with Rob Burrow. He's shiit when he's with anyone else - but I wouldn't pick Burrow ahead of either Sam Tomkins or Eastmond, so he's out. '"
Bo11ocks. I'm not McGuire's biggest fan but he's played with Sinfield most of this season and has been arguably Leeds best performer. I wouldn't pick him at International level granted, but to claim he's only good with Burrow next to him is rubbish.
Quote ="ROBINSON" Pryce is too old. Same with Peacock - but he's injured anyway so it doesn't matter.'"
Leon Pryce is 28. If that is the reason you wouldn't pick him for England then you need a serious word with yourself.
Are you seriously advocating not choosing Peacock if he was fit? Who would you play? Coley or Fielden?
Quote ="ROBINSON" Widdop is untested. A good first half against France and the fact he plays in Australia doesnt make him an instant selection. Put him on the bench and see how he goes..'"
Put a fullback on the bench? Good one. Widdop has done everything asked of him and save for putting Leon Pryce at 1 (apparently he's over the hill at 2icon_cool.gif what's our next option? Wellens has never excelled at International leveland he's still comfortably the best 1 in Britain.
Quote ="ROBINSON"James Graham needs to keep his dummy in and remember he's a prop, not a stand off. Drive the ball in and tackle. That is all. '"
Thank f*ck you're not the coach. Would you take the mongrel out of Wayne Rooney? Would he be the same player?
Graham's passing close to the line results in plenty of clean breaks for the likes of Wellens, Roby et al at Saints and it offers us something different.

Why not? Where has this myth come from that we can't beat New Zealand? People have been saying it every year since I joined this forum yet we have a record of won 7 lost 5 since 2004 (not including the one off mid-season test).

| I think it's because down under we've traditionally struggled.
Lets not take anything away from a great series but we wont 3 of those games in 07 against a severely depleted side on home soil.
Down under I bet we haven't beaten them for 5 games have we? I dont know, I dont have the figures..

Probably not, we didn't beat them in the WC or 06 Tri-Nations anyway. I still think it's wrong to just write us off reaching the final though.
Quote ="74'"Did you not watch the WC?'"
Yes, is that what you are basing your negative view on? A squad from two years ago, dominated by Saints and Leeds players which reportedly didn't get along?

For the Louis Anderson break his positional sense was absolutely shocking. 3 on 1 you should always score.
Its all good Bridge returns next week, we can watch a real class centre.

| Briscoes try last night summed up why he should be in the team. It's alright falling over the line 25 times a season but would any of the other wing candidates have scored that? He's not only got genuine pace but he's very strong and has great balance and footwork.

You watch a different sport to me surely! Ryan Atkins last night was fantastic, as he has been for the best part of the year. Another try assist to go with his 2 last week, not doing a bad job for someone who cant pass. Joint second centre for try assist's in SL, with Matt King, behind Bridge (who has played a few games as a half and loose)
If you want to line Ryan Atkins up against any other centre in the league i'd defend his corner, check his stats. Try assist's, metres, carries, dummy half runs, tackle's, tries, penalties... anything! The guy is 24, and a very 'raw' talent, but as the season has gone on, he has become a stand out in the 2nd best team in the league.

| Ive never claimed he isn't a good athlete; what he isnt is a natural centre.
I said he finds touch more often than he finds his winger and that was proven last night. I said his positional sense is poor and that was highlighted again taking completely the wrong option on Louis' break. this happens too regularly, usually with Mathers and he then often looks like an idiot when in fact when you take a look at Atkins he's taken completely the wrong line.
Atkins does a lot of things right, he aint a natural centre though, Bridge is, the wing would definately be the position i'd be looking to put Atkins in the international side. At club level he goes okay, internationally he would be murdered.
