If you want to respond to what you believe is an arrogant post by a crim, just remind them of who currently has the bigger crowds and the bigger TV deal (currently)...that normally does the trick


As I stated above, the 25k average they have achieved is great, but still 2,000+ less than the kick'n'clap brigade....if you throw that stat at them they generally pi55 off

......but if they are still annoying you, remind them that a club soccer match got a bigger gate than any of their opening round games...that should do the trick



If all else fails...ask them who are the current 4 nations and world cup holders and why billy slater sleeps with the lights on (he's scared of the dark

FWIW......the NRL game I just watched was better than any of the SL games I have seen this year....no skin of my nose if you agree or not.

Jeez, stop getting so defensive! He's compared RL to, um, RL! Wheres the crime in that? Embrace and congratulate them on the record crowds. It's been a great effort this weekend, especially by the Warriors.

Alot things have been said on here about me in the past that grates me.But you don't hear me crying about it...

Maybe because RL is pretty much the top sport in Australia....how about we compare the attendance figures for the Aussie soccer comp...Hyandi A league or whatever it's called and compare that to the English Premier League?!!

Agree that Australia have done wonders in getting the sport and NRL up there with media and viewing figures....maybe now they should concentrate on getting the whole country to know about it...not just 2 States.

Hey, I agree that the RFL isn't doing national exposure very much good...but then again, what sports NGB does!?!

Why the hate towards the NRL? The product from Australia is top quality and a higher standard than the SL. I can see why people think they should do more to grow the game but u cant knock what they have done to RL in OZ. The NRL is widely regarded as the best rugby competition (from either code) in the world and while its live attendence numbers are below the AFL its tv ratings are not. The NRL draws great numbers and I expect this season they will be great again putting the NRL in a v strong position for the next tv deal.

We should be asking how they turned things around and made there product box office? They have had the AFL and Rugby Union as competitors and have come out smiling.

My friend has won a 2 week all expenses paid holiday to Melbourne. I told him to go and watch the storm and his response was "Australian RL is not very good and the teams in SL are better". I did try and stress to him he really needs to go and watch a NRL game!!

NRL is slightly better than SL........but it is better. It seems to played at a faster rate and with more intensity.....but SL has got better over the last couple of years IMO.
Dogs v Tigers or Roosters v Bunnies this week better than anything I have seen of SL this year so far.....and the Warriors

Just watched highlights of Saints v Quins......when teams are prepared to stop f*(king around at the PTB Rugby League is lightyears ahead of anything else.

what I dont get is why more young british guys are not prepared to have a go at NRL... they will find it hard, and the media scrutiny is intrusive.. but the rewards are great!

I've been to Sydney and I've been to Wigan. If I were a 20 something year old RL prospect and as nice as wigan is, I'd be off like a shot!

That is as much an Australian ego thing as a British taking the opportunity thing. Most Aussies still see British RL as far inferior so they are unlikely to chase English players, especially when NZ is so much closer!

yep, nailed it in one! Between robbing players and robbing $'s out of NZ the least the NRL could do would be to put another team there. Shame no one is bidding.

I'd love to see a second NZ team but it's not going to happen if there's no will in NZ for it. There's heaps of bid teams putting their hand up and no one from NZ is doing likewise. Can't complain about not getting a run when they don't even bid.

I spent a bit of time in Aus over the winter and visited Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane et al. As nice as they were.. I wouldnt trade my place in Warrington for any of them. SOO overrated its unreal

Big cities the world over are . London, Dublin, Sydney, Auckland, you name it. Wouldn't live in any of them. But then again, Wigan and Warrington... the less said the better.
