| Cooper should be in, Soward should always remain a club player.
Campo's probably out, hopefully TLL's in.

Barrett, 31, capped a stunning return to big-time rugby league when named NSW five-eighth in place of the sacked Terry Campese for the clash against Queensland in Sydney tomorrow week.
Apart from Barrett, the NSW selectors named:
PAUL Gallen at lock and dropped Anthony Laffranchi;
GLENN Stewart on the bench for the injured Luke Lewis;
ANTHONY Watmough on the bench for injured Luke Bailey; and
DAVID Williams as the wing replacement for injured Knight James McManus.
The Blues could lose more players through injury with Jamie Lyon (ankle), Michael Jennings (calf) and Craig Wing (hamstring) still in doubt.
With so many injuries, selectors have also picked three shadow players. They are: Tom Learoyd-Lars, Joel Monaghan and Josh Morris.
Halfback Peter Wallace retained his position despite calls for him to be dumped.
Campese will be frustrated at his omission but the return of Barrett is remarkable given that he left the NRL, seemingly for good, in 2007 to join Wigan.

| Drop Campese and stick with Wallace, great move selectors
I think Barrett is a great player but he and the Sharks have had 3 good games all year. I hope Lyon misses out so that Josh Morris gets a game he's a much better player, Lyon doesn't even want to be there and he proved that in the first game. Morris will handle Inglis better aswell.
Surprised Williams got in, must of been the try saver on Lachlan Coote which was great but he's not been in the best of form, Brett Morris should of been picked and although i like Watmough i think they should of picked a prop to replace Bailey cos now they've only got 3 props.

They've only picked Williams because of his combination with Lyon on the right at Manly, neither are in form. The Morris brothers are in great form and should have been picked but even Matt Cooper would of been a better option than Lyon, at least he could of coped with Inglis alot better.
I hope Jennings is fit for the game, even though he didn't have a great game in Origin I him and Jarryd Hayne looked dangerous ever time the ball was down that left hand side. They just need to get the ball to him more and create some space, Hodges is out so he'll be up against Willie Tonga.

WHILE Queensland boast stability and loyalty, NSW last night employed their 14th halves combination since 2004.
Amazingly, the last time NSW used the same halves in all three games during a State of Origin series was back in 2003, with Newcastle's Andrew Johns alongside St George Illawarra's Shaun Timmins.
Since then the combinations have come - and gone - regularly.
Even in 2004 and 2005, when NSW won both series, the Blues used five different combinations in six games. Those players were Timmins, Johns, Craig Gower, Brett Finch, Brad Fittler, Brett Kimmorley, Trent Barrett and Braith Anasta. Kimmorley (in 2007) was the only halfback to have survived a series loss since Johns in 2002.
During 2006, NSW used Finch, Anasta, Gower and Mark Gasnier.
Since then Jarrod Mullen has been named, as has Kimmorley again, Anasta, Greg Bird, Peter Wallace, Mitchell Pearce and Terry Campese.
Now Barrett is back yet again in 2009 to link with Wallace.
In contrast, Queensland have stuck solid - although they have had the luxury of choosing from champion players Darren Lockyer, Johnathan Thurston and Scott Prince.
In the past four series, Queensland have only used three halves combinations - Thurston-Lockyer (seven games), Thurston-Scott Prince (two games), Thurston-Karmichael Hunt (one game).

| I really want both Gallen and TLL to be playing, but at the moment it's looking like one or the other.
To me, it still looked like we were out-muscled in the front row in Game I, so what do we do? We downsize.
I'm not sure I totally trust this "shadow player" thing. Those players currently in the team, who are under an injury cloud are Lyon, Jennings, Gallen and Wing. Is it because of those players that we've named TLL, Monaghan and Morris in waiting? If so, and alllowing for Jennings to be right (who should be after 3 weeks with just a cork), then TLL in for Gallen, Monaghan in for Lyon and Morris in for Wing? Doesn't quite make sense.I guess, as we've seen, being named in the extended squad means little if injury/suspension in the 17 occurs.
I would just like to know where the selectors' heads are at. It's confusing to say the least.
Nothing I can do about it, so the team has my full support come Wednesday week.

The Shadow player thing is if Lyon doesn't make it then Monaghan will come in(Right centre for right centre), if Jennings doesn't make it Morris will come in(left centre for left centre), if Gallen doesn't make it TLL will come in for him but if Craig Wing isn't fit to play then i would imagine they will call someone else up into the squad, god knows who, it could be Ben Hornby or maybe another prop because thay are light in the props. They should have just picked one out of Stewart and Watmough and gone with someone like Brett White or Luke Douglas or someone but we'll see what happens.

They'll call Ennis up if Farah doesn't make it. Any player who's suffering from injury has to have trained by friday otherwise they will call up other players into the team.
Hope Gallen and Wing are fit cos they need Gallen's aggression and Wing is great of the bench as he proved in game 1, Ennis would be a good replacement for Farah although i hope Farah makes it, Morris and Monaghan will more than cover for Lyon and Jennings so there's no problems there.

| Michael Jennings has been ruled out of Origin II and Joel Monaghan has been brought into the side.
Why on earth hasn't Josh Morris been put in there. He's a left centre, Monaghan's a right centre, he's in better form than most centres never mind Monaghan, he's scored more tries, his team are joint top and they send him back to the Dogs.
Gallen is definately fit to play so TLL has gone back to the Raiders for this weekends game. Now there's just Farah and Wing who have to prove there fitness and start training by tomorrow or Ennis will come in for Farah and someone else for Wing.
Queensland never get loads of injuries and have to chop and change do they, Tonga for Hodges and that's it.
