When it comes down to it if you have to open your gates to get a decent crowd in then you have a lot more things to worry about than a few posts on here. I dread to think what the crowd would have been if people had to pay to watch it and you didn't have to appeal to other fans to come like you have on here.

Even though we are on a bad run, and are a division below, playing less distinguished opposition, We'd still would've matched or bettered your attendance yesterday with everyone paying. Even so, 2,000 season ticket holders did pay to see the game.

I've made the point and I'm not sure you would have got over 3,000 paying fans if you couldn't double that with over 3,000 not paying.

I say this purely due to the fact you had 3,290 against Barrow in what was a decent clash. You lost that game and the two games after this. I think it is more than conceivable to think the gate would have gone down by more than 300 or so against less attractive opposition. As I have said before though, we all have our opinions and that is mine.

Gateshead are on the same amount of points as Batley who you had 2,901 spectators for the home games against them. 900 approx fans paying on the day for that one and that was before your run of losses. I think yesterday would have seen an even worse crowd due to the run of losses and the fact it was against a team at the foot of the table, like Batley with little away support that I guess was less than Batley's.

our chairman made the game free to thank fans for sticking by the club recently and to get the fans who stopped going back after poor displays recently.

your club is still developing, so they or other parties give tickets away to introduce fans to rugby league and to build a fan base for the future.

so lets put this old argument to bed. it will be more than likely that there will be another brewing in a couple of weeks about something else thats pointless.

Both were all paying and both either match or beat CC’s attendance yesterday.
