Anyway I'd put not knowing the name of the trophy given to the winners of the French championship a lot lower down the list of blunders than thinking that Stade Francais used to be the rugby league club Paris St Germain.

mike just to clarify you were bagging RL in australia for the following :

1. people not wearing RL jerseys despite it being the offseason
2. the atmosphere at games not being good despite not attending a game in sydney

Just to clarify you were making out that RL is bigger than AFL which it quite clearly isn't.

The atmosphere at RL games in Aus is renowned for being dire and yes I did go to State of Origin and an International in Sydney.

mike you said AFL fans were more passionate than RL ones despite not going to any NRL games.
