It may only be 2 games in, but it's the same story as last season for both Salford and Hull.

If it was Harris at Crusaders of Potter at Bradford then yes, saying it's only 2 games in is a valid argument. But for coaches who've been at their respective clubs for quite some time, and given Salford's influx of players this season, there's questions that need to be asked.

Sounds like Roby and Puletua are playing well, but Kyle Eastmond seems to be the major factor in it. Plus some poor discipline from Salford, much like Wigan in the second half last week.

You have to feel sorry for genuine Salford supporters, especially anyone who has purchased a season ticket.

There seemed so much optimism with their signings but this is an horrific start.

Back to the drawing board.

It's too early for talk of sacking McRae I feel. Those players will still be playing on instinct, they won't be much of a team yet. They've brought something like 8 in and let 13 leave. That is a major overhaul and it will take a lot of time for players to learn the defensive patterns.

By all accounts St.Helens played well - especially the new lad Shelby



In all honesty though i would get shut of McRae now if somebody of quality can be brought in - Noble has already been mentioned and if i were a Salford fan at the moment id be looking for a change.

Its not the fact that they have lost two games, more the way they lost them and im not sure if all of Salfords new signings are as good as people like to make out.

They need a new coach. Mcrae is rubbish and would be better talking on the tele! I have no doubt that with a top class aussie coach like Maguire or Smith that Salford would be in the top 8 with those players. Same goes for Hull. They could challenge for the title with Maguire or Smith. Look what its done for Warrington and you can already see an improvement in Bradford after a pre-season with Potter.
