Two questions
1. You mention in the first post 5 directors, I can't see where it states the number of directors in 2008 and 2009
2. It states the highest paid director - are you assuming that is Lewis?

give over, sport england was given a large amount of money to distribute amongst many sports in england.it just so happens that football,RL,RU and cricket are the big 4 team sports in england so they got the lions share, commonsense really.
at the end of the day this money was handed out in a attempt to get all the little fat kids off there computers and to keep them out of hospital in later life thus saving the NHS billion in later years.

Yes, Sport England received money from the Government. They then give it to other sports. If it was on the basis of RL just being a big team sport, why did they get a much larger increase than anyone else? They don't just give things away. They don't just go "well, you're a big sport, so we'll give you this much." They need to know what the sport are going to do with the money, how they are going to meet their targets for participation, which areas are most likely to achieve this and why, etc.
The fact that you have said they just get given it is extremely ignorant and quite honestly pretty stupid of you honestly believe that's what goes on.

im not arguing that it doesnt come from different quarters.
26million comes from sport england,so how much more is being invested in grass roots and wer as that money come from,is it other grants off other goverment departments? or have the rfl gone out and worked hard to get this money from private investors.

Not really, no. Cricket has more than 6000 clubs registered with the ECB, many of which run multiple teams, plus thousands more operating outside of formal leagues. RL has less than 500 clubs (to put that in context, sports like Korfball aren't far behind RL in terms of numbers of adults playing.)
RU & Cricket have been getting tens of millions in annual public funding for the last couple of decades. RL hasn't. Previous RFL administrations have succeeded in getting almost nothing from the government. The amount of money coming into grassroots RL is phenomenal -it's why the RFL suddenly has hundreds of employees and there are development officers all over the place. That was not happening at all before the current administration.

It says "a majority of the increase." The increase is £1.3m, so a majority of it could mean £700K, which sounds about right.

| You mean the generous salary cap of 300k in the Championship and £150k in Championship 1. There are no large handouts to championship clubs unless they jump through impossibly small hoops, then it is 100k max. In the last 12 months or so Doncaster, Gateshead and Keighley have all gone into Administration, Whitehaven are also struggling badly along with Blackpool so I think that partly answers your question. The like of Arthur Thomas (Leigh), Steve O'Connor (Widnes) and Des Johnston at Barrow have kept their respective clubs going along with the backers of one or two other clubs.
I think that some fans of SL clubs don't realise how much the funding of RL has changed since SKY came along as well as not even knowing that the championship actually exists. To summarise SL clubs are guaranteed a minimum of around 900k per year + costs of trips to France, and Championship clubs around 30k. Champ TV games..the HOME team gets £4000 which has to be spent on ticketing initiatives (ie free tickets). This £4000 is from the Co-Op sponsorship and NOT from SKY. SL clubs can cope with the loss of a few hundred fans when games are moved, Championship clubs cannot cope in the same way when the big game of the weekend is moved to a Thursday. For example, the Halifax v Widnes game has been moved to a Thursday. I reckon many Widnes fans who would have travelled on the Sunday will not travel on a Thursday evening, thus depriving Fax of vital income. Yes they get £4000 from the Co-Op, yes that be used to offer free tickets, but many of those would be taken by fax people who would normally pay anyway.
