I have been talking about attendances in the 90's and how good they were at big stadium. You then make a comment about "DW to Wembley" and back up what i said about the big stadia used in 1990, sorry but i dont get what your point is.

Are you saying i am making it up that there was 55-60k at wembley in 1990? I was there, it is a fact!

I think you are new to RL, we even had 65k there for the world cup final in 1995, so please dont try and be a smart @rse.

Next year they will doubtlessly have a game a saints new ground, theres 18k for you.

The 57k and 46k were at Wembley, where we will get another attendance within that range.

I don't buy all this international RL was amazing in the 80's line, because in reality, those figures are nothing that we cant currently achieve right now.

Put it this way, if 25,000 people got a ticket for $15au (10 pound tixs), that's $370,000au before any of the other people are added.

Can I just point out that the pre 1996 tours worked because they took place during the off season of the touring country, but during the season of the country being played. If you tried to resurrect them now your only options would be: in the off season of both countries (in which case, who is the touring team going to play?) or during the playing season of both countries (in which case do you really think clubs are going to release players to go off, and possibly get injured, when they want them turning out the league/ cup for them)?

Ok education time, we used to play 3 games against the aussies called test matches. In between those test matches they would also play the top league clubs. So the figures i quoted for 1990, were Test 1 @ Wembley 57k, Test 2 @ OT 46k, Test 3 @ Elland Road 35k.

If you have no knowledge of the past please try and do some research before coming out with nonsense about international not being strong in the 90's

You are complaining that we got good crowds in Wembley back in the 90's, and you are complaining that we are about to get another good crowd at Wembley this weekend. Yes?

The only way to grow the game is by playing in larger stadiums and gaining a larger audience -which will lead to more sponsors and more income. 40-50k this year, could well be 60k next year at Wembley. However, it needs to be a regular occurrence, we should not wait 14 years for the next international at Wembley.

Why can't they do the tour in 4 or 6 weeks at the end of the season, just like they do for 4 nations? I understand they can't do the full blown 10 week tours like they used to but a watered down version would be great to get GB back and some hunger for GB v Aus in front of big crowds!

And this achieves what? The season's over, players are on holiday (actually most are returning to start thinking about preseason training for the 2012 season). Again, who would the touring team play, outside of the tests?
