True and not beyond Leigh for sure. Looking beyond that, I'm not sure any of the wannabees will finish above Catalans who, like Leigh, surely can't continue to be as poor as they started.

| Toulouse look a better side than they did last year when they capitulated when the heat was on. I'd be surprised if they don't make the top 4 in 2018

| They have another year of experience behind them ( Marcon, Ader etc) and the additios of Rapira and Barthau especially give them better options. As i ee it their only problem is overplaying when they should be managing the game better. With better game management they would be a decent side IMO.

For those who want to see some good rugby league tries, here are the highlights of Toulouse vs Halifax.
www.to13.com/actualites/to-xiii- ... ume-video/
The two best tries were the third Toulouse try by Rhys Curran after several players handled, and the Gavin Marguerite try in the 64th minute. Note the performance of the Toulouse backs, in particular Anthony Ford and Gavin Marguerite. In the third try Marguerite draws the defender and sends a beautiful pass to his winger who kicks to the centre field. Later, in the second half, Marguerite shows tremendous speed to outpace the Halifax defenders and score. I predict Marguerite will have a bright future as a centre for Toulouse and France.

...exactly what I was thinking.
Without Catalans and Toulouse KEY players being French, rather than Australian, then FRANCE RL will always be poor.

Not true. Here is the likely French squad 2018:
[i
FB: Morgan Escare (Wigan)
WG: Fouad Yaha (Catalans), Paul Marcon (Toulouse) Anthony Maurel (Toulouse)
CE: Anthony Gigot (Catalans), Bastien Ader (Toulouse), Gavin Marguerite (Toulouse)
FE: Theodore Fages (St Helens), Lucas Albert (Catalans)
HB: William Barthau (Toulouse), Stanislaus Robin (Toulouse)
LF: Jason Baitieri (Catalans), Thibauld Margalet (Catalans)
SR: Benjamin Garcia (Catalans), Benjamin Jullien (Catalans), Vincent Duport (Catalans)
PR: Remi Casty (Catalans), Julien Bousquet (Catalans), Mickael Simon (Catalans), Antoni Maria (Catalans), Bastien Canet (Toulouse)
HK: Eloi Pelissier (Lezignan), Alrix da Costa (Catalans)[/i
Note that it is mostly Catalans forwards but mostly Toulouse backs. It would beat Scotland and Ireland, and perhaps run within 24 points of England

Anthony Gigot can cover full back if Morgan Escare is injured.
Which winger would you have Mark Kheirallah replace: Maurel or Marcon?

Maurel.
I would shoe horn Kheirallah into the squad, he's a quality player.

Wow.....just WOW
Scotland have no clubs, Ireland AFAIK has 10 amateur clubs.......France started the RLWC in 1954........go figure that France would beat those two. As for getting within 24 points of England.....not a chance

Plus he's not French. What's the point of having French teams in SL in france then start picking overseas players for their international team?

Springer as been in the 19 recently but not got in the 17. Been doing well at Halifax - our DR side. I recon he will be making his first appearance in 2018 for us (Tigers) this Easter weekend.
