It was a late hit on the kicker, who was Sam Tomkins. A late hit is supposed to be a binning. An elbow to the face is supposed to be a red card AND a ban, as I think McGoldrick will find out today.

I'll hold my hands up and say I didn't see those two incidents in particular involving Cunningham. But genuinely, he's the last player I would ever accuse of routinely employing dirty tactics.

So I take it when Gary Wheeler kicked the ball at the DW stadium earlier this year and Ryah Hoffman struck him (with an elbow raised) and put the lad out from April until August with an injury as a result of it, you were screaming for Hoffman to be sent off and banned were you??

I can't recall that particular incident, but if it's as you describe then I would have been calling for a ban since I can't stand dirty play.

Same reason I expect Hock to get a ban at LEAST consistent to recent decisions at the disciplinary (6 matches), but would rather it was more like 8.

Making contact with a kicker after the ball has gone isn't automatically an illegally late tackle, especially when the charger is committed. The ref, linesmen and VR didn't see it as illegal and Hoffman wasn't cited. Don't pretend it was an elbow - it was a shoulder charge, nothing more.

The majority consensus at the time (Saints fans apart, of course) was that Hoffman was committed and Wheeler needs to toughen up.

Ah, maybe that's why I don't recall it.

Yes, there are 10 entries, and the decisions were: 2 charge, 7 no-charge, and 1 entry with no information whatsoever (from the case number it appears to be a duplication). So in fact he's been "up infront of the beak" twice.

3. Bridge - Should get a job with Avon when he retires as is experienced in handing out a facial or two.

4. Senior - RFL golden boy who is partial to clobbering people from behind whilst they are busy "dealing" with someone else


6. McGoldrick - Say no more. Cant believe he has lasted so long without some one giving him a real pummeling.

8. Graham - loves a cheap shot and will literary run in the other direction if any heat comes his way.

But lets be honest EVERY player who plays the game as had a sly dig at the opposition one time or an other. Its part of the job description. Some are just more blatent than the get caught more often.
