There's only more games on British soil because Wales qualified. When France were in it, there was one game less.
The Tri-Nations also had bigger crowds overall IIRC.

| Can still get 10 tickets together in the £25 sections in the lower tier behind the posts. Thought this area was supposed to be sold out?

| All blocks are the same, you are simply buying for that price category, giving you the best assigned seats. Bottom tier is (minus a few seats on there own) is sold out.

| I understand that they filled the bottom tier and are opening other blocks as demand dictates. I think that come tomorrow / Thursday the RFL should notify Wembley Stadium which blocks they require open and after that they can only fill those agreed blocks but no more.

| I tried last month to get a group of 8 together and had to settle for a group of 4,3 and 1 in block 130.
Somethings not right.

It's shocking isn't it. But it's what decades of neglect do to a sport. There isn't sufficient investment in the sport to make it attractive to the public.
The RFL have done well with ticket prices, but that is with a sport that is firmly at the back of the public's perception.

... and the RFL, which has hardly covered itself in marketing glory in recent history, and is hardly awash with funds, is doing its damnedest to try to force international RL into public and news consciousness by the bold decision to play these games at Wembley, so the media can't totally ignore it, yet seem to [istill [/ibe getting a bagging from all the usual whinging suspects.

That's only for sections 206-213 and 240-247, i.e. the middle tier that's recently been opened
All other sections are still the same price.
This says to me that there has been enough interest to open the middle tier, but not enough to fill it so the RFL are looking at ways to fill it as much as they can.
They have put the deal on the Essex, Milton Keynes and Surrey Groupons, and so far 25 deals have been sold. By doing this it raises awareness, publicity, and gets people who didn't have any interest in going, or were umming and ahhing, to go. And these aren't from the traditional northern regions either.
The RFL Should be applauded once again for this initiative

Indeed, spot on. And yet the same neglected sport can get 80,000 for the Cup Final and 70,000 for the Grand Final. So the question is where the hell has everyone gone?
The biggest problem Rugby League has is not competition with Rugby Union, it's not a southern biased media, it's not lack of money and it most certainly isn't the RFL.
It's the large amount of small-minded, parochial, whinging sods involved in RL, especially fans.

| To offer a different perspective. I was chatting to my mate (a Union fan from the South who is coming to the game) last night and he had heard that there was going to be over 40k there - his comment was that that was a really good figure.
Not what a farce / half empty stadium etc.
Basically, he was looking forward to going to Wembley with his mates to watch an afternoon of top class international sport over a few beers.
Which is what I'm doing and my enjoyment of the day will depend on how well England do not the size of the crowd.

That means that half of the middle tier is open now! Get in!
I've been keeping my eye on the ticket page over the past few days. Only a third of the middle tier is open for purchase online. With all the offers knocking about and the talk of emails from the RFL saying 43k tickets have been sold, I wonder if they're opening the whole of the middle tier up, but aren't putting them all up for general sale on the site. Instead they're withholding some from the site and selling them over the phone to those using a promotion

I believe the code is 4NGILL for half-price Club Wembley tickets when you call them.
