Not very scientific but Jamie Peacock mentioed on TV after the QF that the SF would be great with 60,000 there. So, that maybe implies ticket sales then were around that mark or a little below and he was rounding up to be positive?

There may be some returns like we've seen for the final but presuming there aren't many we must be around 60,000 if not a few more. The bottom two tiers hold just over 50k and the top tier has 18 blocks open, of which all but a few seem full. When you work out an average number of seats per block (although it may not be fully accurate as the touchline blocks are bigger then the ends)I'd guess there's around another 15,000 on sale up there of which at least 10,000 must have gone. Either that or they're holding some £20 tickets back further in to the middle then the two end blocks that are being allocated online which wouldn't make sense.

I think we can shift another few thousand this week and will put my guess at around 67-68,000 which will be a good effort.

Wonder how many of the Club Wembley seats will be taken, it was bloody awful at the CC final...

Pretty much all of them judging by the ticket website. Club Wembley membership isn't valid for this game and the tickets for that tier have all been on general sale.

Well, the ticket page on the RLWC site won't let me buy 3 tickets of any price.

Nope, its p1ss poor considering that their is still 10's of thousands of seats available in the stadium.

I phoned up and got 3 x £40 tickets. There's obviously a flaw in the online system.

nowhere near as retarded as pretending that only half the people who were at a match were there. Either count them as two games and with two attendances of 45k, or 1 of 45k. Making up that there was 22.5k there was moronic.

While I understand they want to make the ground look full for TV, only having 6 sections open for sale is restricting things too far IMO.

Whilst the crowd is going to be at least a decent one (probably a good one) I was hoping for a real push to sell even more.

the tier capacities are:

Lower: 34,303
Middle: 16,532
Upper: 39,165

so if you guestimate they've sold about a 3rd of the top tier, the news of 60k sales sounds about right.

I think 60k is decent (its more than what we'd have got for 2 separate Semi's up north) but I really hope we can push for 70k

70k would be a really good positive figure.

I've not seen much of a push down here though, the London/Southern RL community haven't been involved in any kind of marketing push from what I've seen.

could be pushing almost 70k then come saturday... with another 2 to 3 million watching on BBC-come on England!

Some comparisons vs a 60k+ attendance at Wembley:-

- In 2008, the combined attendance for the two semi's came to 42,514.
- 2000, it totalled 24,146
- 1995, it totalled 46,650

- The 2011 4 Nations double-header at Wembley attendance was 42,344.

A few rows of the previously £99 and £79 tickets by the half way line are back on sale at £50. Grab a great seat if you haven't already!

they have been pushing the big hit for quite a long time, some 3000 tickets sold to member clubs.

I get the visual effect they are going for, there must be a trigger point at which other sections go on sale?

They've been opening up 2 top-tier sections at a time. I guess they will continue to sell £20 tickets in this way as demand dictates.
