will be interesting to see the ticket sales for the semi finals at wembley now

some on here said once England got to wembley it would be a sell out, i hope so but cant see it

I feel slightly redeemed after my earlier 360k ticket prediction being blown out of the water.....I predicted Australia v Fiji and , New Zealand v England would be the 4 teams and 2 games there.....

.....I still say that Evans and his lot will bust a gut filling Wembley this week........70k easy!

Really need the RL development officers / marketing team going into the London Fijian community this week in addition to the antipodeans.

At least 1k Fijians went to rochdale, yet London has a far bigger fijian population. Now Fiji are there the RFL need to focus on getting at least half of the Fijian's from Rochdale down to London, and should target another 1-2k fijians living in London going.

Push that, the antipodean element, and decent sales from the north / walk up in and around London, we should be able to get somewhere between 70-75k which would be excellent. And what a carnival/ festival atmosphere we can have if we could get say 2-3k Fijians along with 5k Aussies & Kiwis there!!!

The crowd of 22,276 at Wigan on Saturday was the second largest ever in Britain for GB (Eng) v France after the 22,293 that watched GB v France at Station Road in the 1960 World Cup. (Figures taken from Robert Gate's 100 years of Test Matches. Rothmans gives a larger crowd for a test at Knowsley Road in '57).

Martyn Sadler saying the RLWC are hopeful of 65k for the semis. He also said they were hopeful of over 50k for Cardiff, and 45k turned up.

I hope they push the game hard in London this week though, it's only locals that they can really target as walk up sales. Maybe do the groupon offers etc.

apparently 56k sold for Wembley so far. Cant see it being much more than 65k now.

I doubt anyone in the modern day of online ticketing would just walk up to Wembley and pay on the gate.
Even if you decided on the morning you'd surely buy a ticket and pick it up at the ticket office rather than just gamble.

I'm not sure Wembley can handle pay on the day sales.

Here's a bit of a comparison for the glass half empty amongst us!
In comparison-

both semi finals at the 2000 world cup attracted a combined audience of 24,146 (equates to a 135% increase in attendance for 2013 semis)

both semi finals at the 2008 world cup attracted a combined audience of 42,554 (equates to a 32% increase in attendance for 2013 semis)

The final in 2008 also saw an attendance of 50,599 (the semi final attendance of 2013 alone of 56,000 is bigger than this, never mind a 40% increase for the final in 2013 approx 70,000 will be in attendance).

There will be 26,000 more people attending this world cup final in England than attended the last world cup final in England 44,329 & approx 20,000 more attendees than in 2008.

The rugby league community in the UK has really got behind this world cup however people always try and find the negatives, find the positives in our great sport for once!

Some Saints fan behind me at Warrington yesterday was moaning because we've hardly sold any tickets for Wembley and it should have been at Huddersfield! I literally starting laughing out loud.

The same bloke did say both ends we're pretty empty at the DW on Saturday night though so I'm sure he's got issues with his vision.

A 60k crowd will be great, even better if we can push it above 65k.

Hopefully they will really get the message out in London. £20 to watch two games at Wembley Stadium is amazing value. When we had the international double header down there two years ago a uni mate of mine was desperate for me to find some transport so that we could go, purely for the fact that as a soccer fan he would never be able to afford a trip to the national stadium.

Back in April when Steve Mac went on BBC Radio 2 he mentioned ticket prices for the double header, they were inundated with texts asking were they really that cheap or had he got it wrong. Get Offiah etc on local radio and a few pages in the free papers/Standard.

If you are a fan up north bite the bullet, get yourself some tickets and find a way down there. You know you will only regret it!
