| England vs France ought to sell out. France played well against Samoa, especially in the first half, despite the Samoan brutality.
If Morgan Escare outplays Sam Tomkins in attack (and it is up to the French forwards to give him a platform), then expect the NRL cheque books to be out for the French full back.

Wales is looking like a lost cause to me.
Better to focus on building the game in France, where at least you can now count on a good and passionate French crowd.

France have been this RLWC and you will see exactly how in a few hours time......the lack of depth in the international game is being exposed by loaded group stages...France and dare I say Fiji may well deserve to be in the top 8, but they should have qualified as runner up in level groups. 2 Tries and 1 win in 3 is not deserving of a QF berth in my opinion......France should stick to white flag waving!

| Wigan have done zero to promote this game or anything about this World Cup really. It has been really dissapointing and they aren't the only club to be like that.
Even as a Wigan fan I'd be loathed to give anymore games to the DW. It's a decent enough stadium but because it's not owned by us, I don't think the club really care about the internationals being here.
The one thing I will say about it though is that it's not just Wigan fans responsibility to fill the ground tonight and if it isn't the blame (if anybody thinks there should be some) lies at all fans doors.

| The quarter finals are always a harder sell with people holding off until the last minute to know who is playing where.
Other fixtures are known well in advance.
Even the semi's being at the same venue means you get some certainty about who is going to be playing.

| I said before Mondays game that England v Samoa would sell more tickets that England v France. We get to see France nearly every season, and the Catalans every single season. Having said that to sell 20,000 tickets for a game when you don't know what teams will be playing less than 100 hours before the kick off is another 'thumbs-up' to the World Cup organisers.

after the first game of the tournament you knew England would be playing at the DW tonight against one of 3 opponents......after France beat PNG it was 90% bolted on it would be France!

Some could have been missing as they were coming up from the South on the A483, which was locked solid from just North of Oswestry due to some car rally at Chirk. I left Newtown at just gone eleven and ten minutes before ko was only about a third of the way between the Geldrid and Halton roundabouts (for people who know the area). At that point I gave up and turned round.

I was going to say just like with salford not owning the ground wigan don't really have any reason, atleast financially to promote the game.
But unlike the other games the teams have only been set in stone for the best part of a week so still not a bad effort, but could have probably sold out with a bit more effort from the club.

| 8pm is a very odd time for a game on a Saturday night, especially with no Premier League football, do you reckon it was to do with the Autumn Internationals in Yawnion?
I went to both games today, and i must say, whilst the Wrexham crowd was far from great, it still had 5,800 there, which i assume would have been much higher had Wales actually been there. However, i was pleasantly surprised that everyone around me, was Welsh, and really getting into it, which i thought was great.
Perhaps one of few mistakes the organisers made for this world cup, was awarding two games to Wrexham, unfortunately Wales hugely disappointed, and maybe an area like St. Helens, or Halifax would have done better, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
An excellent attendance in Wigan tonight, a great one in Leeds last night too, and hopefully we'll be knocking on the door of a sell out tomorrow, because tomorrows game for me, will be the highlight of the tournament, barring the final!

| I think having Wales in Group B instead of France would have been a far better bet for crowds.
France would probably sell out games against anyone (or at least get huge crowds) and could really have done with the momentum.
Wales vs Cook Islands was never going to be a big draw, and playing at Neath basically was telling potential punters "we don't think much of this game".
Wales vs PNG in the double header, NZ at Swansea and Samoa at Wrexham would have achieved far greater crowds.

| I don't think we can say sales have stalled because one quarter final was not five figures.
50+k
covering all quarter finals is not shabby at all.

| Any more than 70,000 at wembley is a massive success!
The two games to be played there wouldn't have attracted the same amount of people if played separately. Wish I could afford the train ticket down!
Come on England!!!!
